Eh, its a comfort food to me. it's more of a snack thing, usually eaten at teatime. They've replaced hard pretzels for me. They also introduced me to rosewater. I like lime over lemon juice in the jalebi. Lemon is too sour.

Citric acid or lime juice is sometimes added to the syrup, as well as rose water. Jalebi is eaten with curd, rabri (North India) along with optional other flavours such as kewra (scented water).
