Then we can say he occupied the region roughly corresponding to WV -I am immediately thrust into the war, hooray!- TIME TO WHIP OUT SOME TAR HEELS Fun fact: North Carolina fielded more troops than any other confederate state, and produced generals such as Braxton Bragg and Leonidas Polk to the cause. Well, seceding automatically means war in most cases.

Well, seceding automatically means war in most cases. Yes...I know how secession works... lovely reminder.

Delaware 1861
The treacherous secession of the so-called Confederate States has put Delaware in a tough position: it is a slave-owing state, but the Governor, State Legislature, and People know that Delaware shall commit everything to the preservation of the Union, as it promised in the Washington Peace Conference. Delaware, being the first state in the Union shall not leave. However, some in Delaware still favor peace, including Thomas Bayard, to the cost of letting secession. To that end, Governor William Burton reminds the Governors and Legislature of the seceding states ( Von Bismarck jr, Imperial RomeBall, Polenbal, Wilhuff Tarkin, Antonio Santa Anna) that before President Lincoln was elected (of which Delaware itself did not support), the Corwin Amendment to the Constitution had passed Congress and awaiting approval of state legislature. Such amendment would prevent any interference from the Federal Government regarding slavery. With the combined political power of the slave states, such amendment would pass and the seceding Confederates shall fulfill its purpose without firing a shot. To that end, Governor Burton invites the Southern Governors to a peace conference in Dover, or be branded traitors. To the free states of the Union ( The Spanish Inquisition, Basilikon Agemos, Yi Sun Sin, Stonewall Jackson), Burton issues the Three Points: 1. That in the restoration of the Union, no attempt shall be made to abolish slavery; 2. That the Federal Government renounce any future intervention regarding the state's rights on slavery; 3. That the integrity of the Union shall be protected forever. (OOC note: DuPont in Delware supplied 1/2 the Union's gunpowder, so I suggest y'all accept) While Delaware will not resort to vile and treacherous measures like secession, we shall do everything to prevent the abolition of slavery. With the secession, abolitionists in Delaware have grown bold enough to free slaves in the Southern Counties. As such, a general crackdown begin on such organizations, and anyone found freeing a slave shall be punished accordingly. Delaware's industry begin to prepare for War. Henry DuPont, as with any other Delaware citizen, leads the local industrialists in preserving the Union. Gunpowder begins manufacture in Wilmington. Shipbuilders Harlan & Hollingsworth are given a contract of 60 ships, as well as Pusey & Jones (both in Wilmington) for 50 ships. An ironclad ship design from the correspondence of Southern Governors is developed, prototype to be ready in 1862. Wagons and carts are also made with guns. Delaware raises 3 regiments, each of 2,500 men. They are for now guarding the area of Delaware and Maryland. The 1st Delaware Cavalry is also formed, though grossly undermanned. (OOC: posting about ironclads in public IMO means the info is available IC) TBC
(OOC: I assume everyone understands that above is IRP Delaware based on RL Delaware, not me)

Guess it makes sense for somebody to play California. It became a state in 1850, and had over 379,000 people, which......would make it the second smallest state if it was in the confederacy, just behind Arkansas and a few times the size of Florida. Welcome to the forum Erich von Ludendorff,

BTW, outside that vein, I don't mind the the accent as long as you keep it moderate.

Ohio 1861
Please note that it is important to take notice of the role Ohio played in the Civil War. The state itself provided over 300,000 Union soldiers, along with over 200 Infantry/Cavalry Regiments, and over 20 Artillery Regiments. With that being put aside, it is also important to note that those number's were by the wars end, and in the beginning the numbers would be inferior.
In the beginning of the War in 1861, Lincoln ordered 75,000 volunteers to be assembled. The 14th Ohio Infantry under the Command of Colonel James Blair Steedman was put into action and moved into the region of western Virginia. This Regiment will later be supporting Yi Sun Sin in his campaign into Virginia, but please take into consideration that the unit may not arrive for several weeks. Meanwhile, the 1st Ohio Battery was put into action under Captain James McMullin. This unit is to be a supporting unit to the 14th Infantry in its Virginia campaign. Note: Artillery travels at a slower pace, so we can expect the unit to arrive within a few months. Size of the Battery: On the smaller end. More of a Light support unit than a full fledged one.
Ohio voted strongly in favor of Lincoln and the Republican party, but the Southern part of Ohio relied on heavy trading with the south and even appealed to many of their practices. The governor of Ohio, William Dennison, agrees to the terms of Delaware. Dennison mobilizes General George McClellan and sends him to defend the Wheeling Convention in Western Virginia, where Union delegate are set to meet and collaborate, this would later lead to the formation of West Virginia. During this time, several large training camps are under construction via the orders of Governor Dennison, where many thousands of volunteers are set to relocate to.
Ohio begins to build up its industry and agricultural output, hoping to provide a key stimulus to the war effort. In August of 1861, the 2nd Ohio Battery is sent to the upper region of Missouri under General Fremont. Size of this battery is relatively small.
Ohio and its governor are now officially open to talks from its fellow Union States.

Laurent de Gouvion, The great state of Georgia shall not weakly accept your so called treaty. The Confederacy will not rejoin unless that carpetbagger Lincoln is removed from office!
