Firing on the forts attacking the victor. 7 to destroy them wbpM_NLgThe cannon shots missed Rolling for damaged sustained by the Victor 17 rolled. The victor took a beating, any longer and it will sink. Firing on the forts again. 7 5 rolled, missed. Since i missed the forts are still firing on the Victor Rolling for how much more damage is sustained by the victor 13 rolled, I don't think the Victor can stand afloat any longer Moving the Minerve out of the grandport now. We advise the Astell ( The Spanish Inquisition) to stop battling the Nereide and get out of here. The Nereide mast is crippled so it cant follow us. ···········

OOC At the time this takes place, France and England are at peace :/ OOC: De jure war, de facto cold war OOC The date is sometime in July right, or soon after? Well the British alongside the Portuguese would fight at least 3 battles with the French in July, including the notable 1st and consequently second sieges of Almeida. These would also range from Portugal to Western Spain. Edit: Almeida is only 1, as the sieges of Almeida stretch into 1811. 2 in total though. I guess you could argue it was a cold war with at least 1 Proxy war, though again the British were just smart enough to keep blockading. (edit: mainland europe) On the other hand the British would have used tens of thousands of men, thousands in 2 of the aforementioned fights. I wouldn't call this anything less than a major investment of the British Army. In any case, I think we can lay to rest the concept that France And England are at peace. Cold (warm?) or Hot, they are not at peace.

All the GM-event battles are actual battles. Anyway, continuing the Event Chain! Battle of Grand Port. The British squadron, now under command of Samuel Pym, attempts to attack the now-docked French squadron, believing superiority. The Frigates HMS Sirius, HMS Nereide, HMS Iphigenia, and HMS Magicienne are the attackers. The Spanish Inquisition and best75 must defend. You have a strong defensive position, but are outnumbered. A relief force commanded by Hamelin is coming, bringing with him the frigates Vénus, Manche, Astrée and the brig Entreprenant. ( Antonio Santa Anna).

One lazy day in late July, word reaches the Astree that two nearby French vessels are under British attack. We get three other French vessels to join with us, and we sail to aid our fellow countrymen, under Hamelin's command. When we arrive, the Astree goes for the damaged HMS Nereide first. We open fire on their bow to start. (Rolling for damage.)
_e2YerM1 By this point, the Nereide has suffered so much damage that it can no longer fight. We move on to the HMS Sirius next. We fire on their guns to try and disable them first. (Rolling for effectiveness.)
Well, some idiot mishandled the guns, so only one or two enemy guns are disabled. Next, the captain orders the guns to be fired on the Sirius's mast. (Need 8 for mast to be rendered useless.)
Their mast has been torn up by our fire, so the ship won't be going much of anywhere now. Next, we fire on their stern side to attempt to disable their guns and rudder on that side. (Rolling for effectiveness.)
Roughly half of their port side guns are now useless, and their port rudder suffered moderate damage. Now, the Astree draws near to the Sirius, and Payton and a gang of men try to board the Sirius and kill their captain, supported by snipers on our mast and more ship fire. (Need a 7 for successful boarding, 10 to kill captain.)
We manage to fight our way onboard, but the captain of the Sirius barely eludes our search. More men are called from the Sirius, and we set about subduing the Sirius's crew and taking the ship for ourselves. (Need a 7 to subdue a majority of the enemy crew; 9 for complete control of the vessel.)
We clear the upper deck of their crew, but the fight rages on belowdeck. All men from the Astree are called on board, and one final effort is made to wipe out the Sirius's crew and kill the captain. (Need a 6 now for resistance to die.)
Finally, the Sirius's crew surrenders to us, and we take their ship. The remainder of their crew is bound and kept belowdeck, along with their captain. But since the Sirius is still stuck with a crippled mast, our crew gets back on the Sirius and heads onward. ···················

I think we can go for a capture Firing to disable the enemy ships guns. 7 for majority of their guns yv30yT7M As their guns are disable we are now going to move up and board their ships, the allied ships will likely be joining in so will be rolling for my actions I duel one of the crew members. 7 to defeat him won
I now duel the captain. 9 or more to win. 7-8 draw, 6 or below lost
Drawled in the duel. Eventually one of my allies hits him from behind.
