Memes are different. People who know what they're doing can make great memes, but stupid people are the ones who screw them up. But with the dab, it was stupid from the start. So Cam Newton was stupid this whole time? I certainly can agree to that. Finally, someone else agrees...

"Finally sees the light" Hold on, Antonio Santa Anna... I have been playing Fantasy Football for 4 years, and in each year's draft I always have turned down Cam Newton in favor of a better QB. He wasn't really productive anyway and in his first Superbowl he did okay-ish and sat on his butt relying on his team (but then so did Peyton Manning, completely relying on his team's defense rather than his own work).

The dab was not stupid if it's representing something. Cam did it when he scored, so nothing wrong with that. But after he stopped doing it, and everybody else just started dabbing out of nowhere, it became stupid and dead.

I believe when representing that you scored, there is already a term and action, and the term is "touchdown" I guess you are right. All the fools randomly dabbing isn't exactly on the same level.

You can't do a touchdown as a celebration. There's no dance move for that.

Its origins are sketchier and less friendly to forum rules

Chap hop is good.
