So even for closely matched teams, sometimes on a good or bad day (depending on your perspective!), an even match can devolve into a total blowout that's hard to stop and turn around. Basketball is different... it's easier to lose a lead during a game (granted... it shouldn't apply to multiple games within a series if the teams are lopsided matched). I would say that in football, there is no excuse for blowing a lead, but conversely in basketball, there's no reason why a lagging team can catch up from far behind. |

If you look at it in hindsight, Atlanta probably won't be getting back to the super bowl anytime soon, while the Warriors are about to win a championship anyway. So Atlanta definetely has it worse.
