I like Britain in 1798. They have some troops near the Ottoman Empire. I destroy France through two fronts. Also, it is fun in the 1776 one. I like to just advance through Russia, betray the Indians, and take over everything except US territory. Then we'll see who the stronger nation is |

If not Poland I would take Britts. Mostly beause of the fleet and their piracy style (similar to Japanese). Indians are O.k. but they lack of famous leaders. |

I gotta say Russia on this one.
They're far behind the main front, leaving you to deal with Sweden in the Baltic, then crossing the Black Sea to take over the Ottomans. Then as you upgrade all your cities and build your massive Russian army, you come charging through Prussia and Austria, smacking into Napoleon with the full might of the Slavic people.
I love the RKO strategy.

The Americans put an end to that tho for the cause of Manifest Destiny and because he was aided by the Brits. He died in the Battle of the Thames in 1813 during the War of 1812. |

I like Britain because Empire! Only problem is the Ottomans are always incredibly boring to mop up at the end. I do like taking over Europe as Sardinia with only 2 terrible generals because I didn't have the wise advice of the forum at the time I did this. My strategy was abandon Sardinia and flee to North Africa where I waited for about 100 or so turns while I consolidated my power slowly conquering all of North Africa before sitting on my hands as I slowly built up my infrastructure and built an army...the I steamrolled Europe. How could someone who uses the name Horatio Nelson say such a thing? A man whose famous words were "Hate the French as you would the Devil." |
