Armored car for me, because an assault art empowered hail of bullets from a mobile mounted machine gun being used by Lan with two pistols is just awesome. But those cars are just too expensive imo

But once my cav gens get one of these it's game over for the enemy.

The armoured car is also great for medal and/or experience grinding, either as the wall advocated by saltin or as hexagonal clusters around enemy cities. If you can get a conquest-mode setup with a minor nation (so it can accept the full six generals spawned into the game) and make six armoured cars around a level 7 enemy (or transformed ally) city, you're set to grind your generals' experience and nobility to quite a significant degree (this can be difficult to do with those platforms that only allow 99 turns, though).

Next would be black horse cav and then light arty. In my opinion heavy cavalry is expensive and not particularly strong

Don't think heavy cav are that expensive, buy them all time. Speed and the ability to attack twice, seems a very good quality. Imperial gaurd and AC yeah, expensive,,what else light cav? Too weak. But to each his own.

My mind says Armored Car, but heart says Guards. It Seems like I have a personal affection for the Guards as I spam them the most.
