Or just swear in some other language than english so nobody understands you ^_^ No not a good idea.Google analytics shows we (in the forums) have posters from around the world,there is a good chance someone will understand and If there is a complaint I will take action. There is also google translate,we have several posters that can only post with translation software as their English is not fluent enough. |

That wouldn't solve anything. The point of censoring is not to offend/ sound raunchy. Putting a * in one of the letters wouldn't censor anything Exactly in almost all internet forums that have moderators going around the censor filter result in a formal warning against the poster account. The censor bot is not actually there to just stop posters from writting curse words,it's also playing the role of information provider,ie:telling everyone the word is not acceptable. |

If one word stops someone from posting then one would have to question if there is just a basic lack of imagination or a total absence of creativity since the person cannot come up with a single alternative acceptable substitute. This is what it means to try to have a forum that is inclusive and appealing to a larger audience.Sometimes it means making sacrifices in the way we speak/ write.Sometimes the sacrifice is you,or me,or he or she,we get to on occasion muzzle it somewhat for the greater good. |
