Konev is also a general in wc4, so far he has really impressed me, why? Artillery units have always been strong. The fact that you can easily outrange other units is great, you deal lots of damage without being touched. Tank units have been nerfed severly, now you aren't certain of a second attack when you've defeated the enemy. Because of the nerf of tanks, both infantry and artillery will rise in popularity. Because of that i think artillery units are now stronger than ever. The biggest point of weakness for artillery has always been movement, but wc4 seems to have a couple generals with both artillery and movement capabilities. Konev is one of them, he has 6 and therefore the maximum amount of artillery stars and up to 4 movement stars. This makes him move relatively fast without losing that much output, something really good for artillery. Looking at his skills he does seem to have some flaws though. He doesn't have rock-solid skills. Although the new accuracy skill might be the best artillery skill in game, he also has artillery leader and raider, which well... suck. But because he is gold he also can hold up to 2 additional skills. So far i would suggest 2 of either explosives (city health is boosted meaning it's harder to conquer cities giving this skill an indirect buff), plain fighting (greatly boosts avarage damage, though there might be less plains), crossfire counter attack (boosts damage when on hostile ground, since most of the times you are attacking the enemy this gives a huge damage boosts), or any supply skill (for more durability). However, generals seem to be harder to get than in wc3, combining that he is a gold general might result in a very high price. Also you need to upgrade one movement star and his skills as well as giving him new ones, his price might therefore be extremely high. Perhaps he is therefore only viable as an endgame general. So to summarize i think konev might be the new best artillery general in the game. He has 6 artillery stars and up to 4 movement stars and can have 3 of the best artillery skills in game. However he seems rather expensive for me and may not be a reasonable option for the beginning.

.org/] .org/] It's not just tank that have been nerfed. Infantry and artillery have been nerfed has well. Infantry no longer ignore terrian movement penalties and artillerty chance for enemy to have no counter attack is lowered from the 70% that was in WC3, that is not good when up against other 2 range units.

Those units were not nerfed. I checked the game more and I found you can upgrade their abilities to be as strong as they were in WC3 in the technology tab of the HQ

But this Jungle fighting is something mysterious. As far as I saw there is no Forest fighting in WC4. That means Jungle fighting is the only possibility for any fighting in woods. Otherwise it is simply a trash skill. I hope ET understand this logical chain
