I'd recommend getting a artillery general such as Leeb or Konev (With %40 discount if possible) first but you may be able to pass since you have Manstein

Can I do this with only Manstein and messe? Happy first post and welcome to the forum! Since its a normal mission of the first campaign they can really be easily done with just those 2 generals, some people even complete all of them without generals ahaha |

Fun fact: Italy was originally in the code for this level (cause they were part of this battle in real life) but they don't appear in this game.
I guess that made the level too easy or something.

Battle of Stalingrad normal guide, axis 10 I used Leeb and Auckinleck. In addition to the normal objectives we should save Paulus as well because if he is killed than our force will be demoralized. Top group goes to take the city to the right and bottom group engages soviet forces. Once top city is captured both groups advance to capture the city below it expect Leeb who is sent to fight soviet forces that cut 6th army off. Once city is captured I sent a few units to help Leeb fight the soviet forces threatening Paulus while the main force captures the objective city to the right. Than sent Auchinleck to capture the next city and with the help of a heavy tank unit capture Saratov. The rest of the units which were mainly artillery advance to capture Stalingrad than kill Zhukov. For Leeb's group once I was sure Paulus was safe I had them joined the main force in attacking Stalingrad. At start I built Trading Market in Voronezh. For my builds I mainly built howitzers and artillery. Towards the end I built a few heavy tanks.       I might have a problem given the fact that I only have messe are there any tips to do this |

Try to upgrade your tech especially on tank and artilerry. It's okay to have Paulus died as you only got demoralized for few turns. Try to focus on building Howitzer for its 65% no retaliate attack. Don't split your force if you think that the enemies are too powerful. It's okay to move slower and get 1 or 2 stars at first, you can comeback later with powerful gen and tech. If you still stuck with the guide above, watch the guide from war emperor or bruchminatti for this level. They did it with no gen, though i believe that they upgrade their tech beyond European theatre tech. |

I finished this level with just Messe and got 3 stars
You don't have to save Paulus because by the time he's defeated the Soviets have lost their ability to resist. Just attack Stalingrad from the North base and the economy in this level is very good. Spam heavy tanks and attack zhukov
