Simo Häyhä is a finnish soldier that served during World War 2, specially during the Winter War
He was born in 1906 at Rautjärvi in Finland & dead at 96 years old in 2002 at Hamina
His nickname was "White Dead" Belaya Smert by Soviet army because he killed between 500 & 700 soviet soldiers (rumors)during the Winter War
He was a sniper elite that killed 505 soldiers (officialy) until he got wounded
The Soviet Army try to kill him in multiple way : others snipers, artillery's bombardments, tanks but the only thing they on Simo was only damaged his vest
He used a M28 « Pystykorva » the finnish Mosin-Nagant to kill
He don't use a telescopic sight on his rifle for avoiding sun reflex, he only use iron sights
For avoiding to be spotted, he put some snows in his mouth
The 6th march 1940, he's hitted by a explosive bullet in the jaw & he's found by finnish soldiers a few moments later, the soldiers say that "half of his face was missing" but he didn't die. he was regaining consciousness the day that the Winter War ended, the 13th March 1940
His wound will stay during this entire life
When asked in 1998 how he had become such a good shot, Häyhä answered, "Practice." When asked if he regretted killing so many people, he said, "I only did my duty, and what I was told to do, as well as I could."
His men is a hero even he's famous for killing more that 500 soldiers during WW2
