Ok, I have direct questions then... If it is possible to use only 6 generals in Modern war campaigns, - how many of them should have Rumor? Is it in anybody's plans to buy Rumor instead of any already purchased skill? For hard mode.. 6 generals is really clutch for 3 star victory. I wish you will be able to use more though as the amount of Titan tanks and enemy generals is insane. Rumor wise. I would say having 2- 3 general with rumor is a boost.

Look at the enemy general's skills. Their skills are often high or max lvl. You want to be on the lookout for their damage reduction skills. You don't want to be launching missiles at a enemy general only to look and realize he has the skill that reduces missiles damage at max lvl

Be careful when fighting multiple enemy generals with rumor. They can stun lock your general / reduced damage for your generals which results in you losing the fight or taking more damage than you should.

I just wanted to bump this thread up; I found this of worth to be added in a subsection of the wc4 library, so any of you present-day members want to contribute something in this discussion, or ask any queries you might have, feel free to do so

Tip: Never ever use infantry to defend a city. Titan tanks have 100% re-attacking tech so they'll easily one-shot your troops and take over in the same turn. Tip 2: Each airport city will do one flight action at most (eg. paratroop, using fighters, etc.) so I guess you can ignore Tip 1 if the city you're defending is far enough from the front lines. Tip 3: If you're about to take a port with one of your ships, never EVER put it in the hexes right next to an empty enemy port otherwise the AI will definitely spawn a rocket cruiser next turn.
Yeah that's all I can think of right now.

Yeah that's all I can think of right now. Yup, for tip 1 I prefer using armored cars, if not medium tanks to hold.

Yeah that's all I can think of right now. For tip 1, you can use infantry as long as there isn't a spam of OP generals. That's because the AI tends to move their units before they attack. Also it's important to take airports quickly. Especially if the city has Morita in it because he will spam paratrooper at your cities.

Tip 1 is important but not mandatory as long as there's no titan tanks or anything like that in the vicinity.
