I'm curious, anyone brought a CD from that annoying Ads for "Now that's what I call music"? It always annoyed me when those Ads would often interupt the kids shows in the 90s. I'm old enough to remember that first time they advertised it, then later "Now that's what I call music 2", 3, 4... I think they're probably on 200-something by now. SMH, the ads weren't even good looking either. Lol, must have been thrice as annoying as it were to someone there

stoic, Have you listened to the entirety of Carmina Burana? I remember I found it because of the O'fortuna part, but the whole piece is magnificent.

What classical music do people like? I like the well known songs and not much more. What do people recommend? It depends, I think you have to listen to different periods and different composers to discover your preferences. That being said, I'll try and give some recommendations. For the Baroque period, Bach is widely regarded as the premium composer, although there are other excellent ones, such as Albinoni, Telemann, Vivaldi, and Handel. Bach: All the Brandenburg concertos, Toccata and Fugue in d minor Vivaldi: Four seasons For the Classical period, there are so many great ones. I personally prefer Beethoven, especially with his piano works and symphonies. I also enjoy Mozart. Beethoven: All of his symphonies are fantastic, with 5,7, and 9 being the most well known. He has many piano sonatas as well. Mozart: Symphony 40, piano concerto 21, reqieum, and his many concertos (my favorite being horn and flute concertos) My favorite is the Romantic period, with my favorite composer being Tchaikovsky. There's also his fellow Russian, Sergei Rachmaninoff, another one of my favorites. For piano, there's Chopin and Liszt. The Italians, such as Verdi, Puccini, and Rossini all wrote great operas; and if you don't like opera music, there's the overtures. Tchaikovsky: Symphonies 4, 5, 6. Piano Concertos 1 and 2. 1812 overture, March Slave Rachmaninoff: Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini. Piano concertos 2 and 3. Prelude in C# minor Franz von Suppe: Poet and Peasant Overture. Light Cavalry Overture Antonin Dvorak: Symphony 9 (New World), Slavic dances Brahms: Hungarian dances, Symphony 3 Johann Strauss Jr. (The Waltz King) Tales from the Vienna Woods, Emperor Waltz, Die Fledermaus overture Wagner: Tannhauser Overture Mussorgsky: Night on Bald Mountain, Pictures from and Exhibition. I skipped over many, but I hope this list helps you a little!

I have somewhat weird tastes. I like Rotfront a slavic music kinda band even though I only understand the English bits of it. I also like Sabaton a metal band that sings about history.
