You shouldn't have attacked only my provinces at the beginning... Well I was trying to get all my troops south.... but attacking texas when I was recruiting from there wasn't the best thing to do when California and the surrounding areas had one soldier.

Sorry, but I couldn't know that. But I had the toughest start, since I had less provinces than anyone else and therefore less recruitable soldiers

Don't attack for the sake of it. If you attack all at once you become week and can get took over easily like what I did.
Remember it's all based on a dice roll. The if you and the defenders have the same number of troops the defender has the advantage, if the same number is rolled the defender wins.
It may look like you have the advntge if you have 2 troops, and they have 1. But no matter how many troops are in a territory, 1 will not attack. So remembering what I said before, they have the advantage.
Try to attack once per turn. You will get a card giving you more troops.
You should try to get land groups as early as possible. More troops per round= big advantage. The whole goal early on is to secure as many groups as possible. An alience is not certain. You may be allied with someone but that does not meen they won't break it. Defend groups no matter what.
Keeping reserve troops is a good method, if you have say 12 in a far off space, and you are atacked and in need of reinforcements, you can move them in fortify.
When attacking always outnumber your enemy. If they have low troops (less than 8) 2 or 3 more. 10-20 5 more. The more troops involved, the more chance of heavy loss. Luck plays a large part. Dont always expect to win an attack with a large advantage.
If your enemy has a group and doesn't have many troops defending, attack them. They will only grow stronger.
Don't let anyone, allied or not gain to many territory's.
Someone may annoy you by breaking there alience or attacking you, but don't hold grudges. If you go out your way to massively target someone, they will most likely do it back. This meens others can take advantage and get strong.
By taking Someone's last territory, you take all there cards.
We can play a game later if you want, when you get a token back. I have lots of maps.
