Heres the answer to the question. Not the challenge though. Okay so the Japanese carriers are the Hiryu, Akagi, Kaga and Soryiu and the American carriers are the Yorktown, Hornet and Enterprise. Only the Yorktown was sunk to the Americans, but the Japanese lost all their aircraft carriers, resulting, as you can see in a very heavy loss for the Japanese. 2 reasons why it was such a heavy loss is 1. because the sunk Japanese carriers had sunk with lots of Japans elite airmen, ones that could not be replaced, and 2 that now, a new era in naval warfare had begun. No longer were the navy now dependent on warships as their main attack or defence force, because the might of aircraft carriers to strike much farther and much more deadly blows than warships had been proven at Midway and at the Battle of the Coral Sea and in further battles. The Battle of the Coral sea was the first combat of aircraft carrier against aircraft carrier with no warship firing a shoot against an enemy warship. Midway ended in few minutes Actually, only the fate of the battle was decided in a few minutes. On the day of the battle, there were several other aerial combats. For example, the first American raid failed because the fighters had to ditch into the sea due to no definite objective. They knew the Japanese were close by as they had launched a raid on Midway, but they did not know where. Therefore, when the bombers finnaly spotted the Japanese convoy, they were without fighter support, therefore being massacrated by the Zeros. Hits were landed, but only minor ones and not in a big scale.

Okay. You accept my challenge. Heres the 1st one. What were the names of the 4 Japanese aircraft carriers that participated in the Battle of Midway?( They were all sunk, resulting in a complete Japanese defeat). Bonus question: What were the 3 American aircraft carriers that participated in the Battle of Midway? ( 1 of them was sunk). Bonus question. The sunk aircraft American carrier was the flagship of which Vice Admiral? And whos the Rear Admiral that also participated in the battle? Answer time! The Yorktown was the flagship of Vice Admiral Fletcher, and Rear Admiral Spurance also participated in the battle.

I was a colonel at the Battle of Neerwindeen, and played a large part in the defection of General Dummoriez. I am an Austrian general. I was defeated by Napoleon at Ulm, and thrown into prison for two years because of that. Who am I?
