What it does: Blocks incoming attacks and reduces them to 1 hit point.
Issue: random triggering, 10% of the time (or 15%, whatever).
Need to know: Does it have the potential to trigger whenever something shoots back at you? Or can it only trigger whenever the enemy fires first in the AI phase? This has clear implications for the way in which save-load might be used to take advantage of the skill.
If your general is being attacked by multiple enemy units, for example, it could get very tiresome to use save-load until it triggered against them all in the AI's phase, but if it can trigger any time you shoot at something and they shoot back, you can make better use of it against each individual target that you fight.
This would also have implications for generals commanding siege and rocket artillery, which cannot return fire against immediately adjacent enemy units.

I'm pretty sure it ONLY activates when enemy attacks, not counterattacks.

Defense Art is so annoying sometimes if it works against you. In the Battle of Marengo, when i attacked Radetsky, the Defense art triggered thrice. It cost me a whole round and got 25 medals instead of 50.

Defense art seems to trigger like 40% of the time for the enemy, lol

Defense art seems to trigger like 40% of the time for the enemy, lol Yeah. You are right. Among the three times, one was of Napolean, one was of Massena and the other one was of Sophia. I had literally gone crazy at that time.
