I'm trying to build a support gen out of Cornplanter (he has banner + is okay with infantry and movement, so he fit my requirements there), any tips for flags or anything else in relation to support gens would be appreciated

It depends if you want to be aggressive usa flag that boost your surrounding troops attack or play defensively and use flag that boost your troops defence

Snare drum, better powder, caverly pistol ect. With so many items to buy,a flag of any kind is pricey for the output imo but go with it if thats what you want to do.

I suppose I'll buy the attack flag first, then get the rest later on, since he leads with other gens anyways it'll be a good little boost for them

I think if I could redo the flags I would have: Eagle +4 Supply Bear +4 Defense Dragon +4 Attack Tiger as Leadership for surrounding troops Wolf as Sailor for surrounding troops Lion as Spy for surrounding troops
A Mass Fire related flag would be too powerful, a Fireproof flag too weak. If the banners were designed as follows, it would open up the game for more interesting play. The new items would make Banner the best skill in the game without vastly changing the dynamics. It would make a team of all Banner generals feasible and powerful.

My key to understand EW4: Sakurako - she is too fast to have great usage of banner for our troops. Using her to flank the enemy makes alrady an enormous difference. An additional attack-bonus of +3 is similar to an additional max-atk skill - for your allies! - I don't know any other way to influence your allies actively. Do you know where the atk - flags work? Sounds banal, but I want to know: ist the hex from where where an attack is started, or the the hex where the enemy stands (the battle hex -important for evasion) the hex, where the eagle flag works. I will inroduce +4 flags in EW β
£.2 Leadership and Spy seem to work only as skill, I didn't found a way to add them as item for now. (But a few new items - and flags I have already.) A Sailor flag sounds interresting, I will see, if I can make it working.

Good points about Sakurako helping allies. I am interested to see how your experiment goes. For me my experience was this: the disadvantage of not putting Sakurako in the best location outweighed the advantage given to surrounding troops. That and the additional steps involved in item switching made me give up.

Better than Sakurako, she is a #2 - on everything! I just flank with my troops. Only the ultimate hit I give, even with low morale - against 5% health ....-) My troops won't be attacked (>90% no attack - except some generals!), but this flanking is the key. (IE: 1 militia + 1 line for Bluecher) With a Flag, I could have even much more impact - without risking any hp! That flags really work for allies, I prooved with my mod. I encircled Kleist in Berlin, all attacks were so nice, I even used it to 'grind' Arnold to the next rank. During this, I noticed: On the farm directly next to berlin stood Delroy, just surviving - and flanking, but with the Dragon Flag! For my attacks, the evasion of Berlin counts - why not even the +2 of the Flag? (5 times). Following the attack of my allies is my strategy for France 1806 - it pays out.
