I actually tested him once, and he didn’t perform bad. I would buy him if he costed, like, 500 medals. Would be very useful for the initial Infantry missions.
He is decent, but there are much better generals in his price range which is what makes him not worthwhile.

Not really, great Infantry gens like Mannerheim and Yamashita make the Hungary and Finland conquests much easier because you can put them in a commando. They are great for Conquest and Domination. For Scenarios, yes, they aren’t really that great, but can still be useful if you are provided with a powerful Infantry unit like a quad-stacked Mechanized Infantry or a Commando. However, we are talking about Zhu D., who doesn’t have as much value as Yamashita and Mannerheim. So yeah, he is only good for Infantry-only Domination missions, or not even good enough for the tougher ones. |

And remember that Yamashita also has some value as a hybrid. He has 3 tank stars (Can be 4, same Tank stars as unupgraded Messe) and Ace Forces, which aren’t bad at all. Ace Forces can especially increase his survivability. Plus, remember that general rank boosts the HP of any unit. Put him in a triple-stacked heavy tank and he will be quite good.
This isn’t the case with Zhu D., however, whose skills are purely for Infantry, and giving him his other 2 Artillery stars isn’t worth it.

Konev can be better on infantry and he's also the best artillery general.

I tried him, the lack of raider makes him completely useless and guerilla would really help him too.

And I bought Zhu D. some time ago (I was curious how good/bad he is). It's obvious that Mannerheim performs better)) If infantry was any better in this game, Zhu could be a decent general. But you just don't need him as it is. |
