Should I uuprade to 3*s? I really like having an longbowman general,if I upgrade then he is a crossbowman, slightly more damage and hp,but less distance. Not sure if that's good, what should I do?

The damage is primitive if an outdated unit attacks a more modern

However, Robin Hood is not very sustainable & strong in combat beyond Medival Age so I'd suggest getting Nobunaga Oda ASAP (He should be unlocked in Empire Age)

Yeah well I will keep Robin as 2* for now,he serves me well, until Nobunaga shows up.
Not a sniff of him yet.

Is the trade of a little more damage and suffering more at low distance.better than more distance so they can't counter attack? I really like having long attack range, especially in sea battles.

I left him at 2* then ditched him altogether at some point, sorry can't remember when exactly. There does come a point though when he's just too ineffective at 2*.

And Robin is still effective in Mediavel age so he stays longbowman for now. And how do you remove a general? I thought once you got them you are stuck with them thru the duration.

how do you advance general levels A general should have stars on his bio. There should be a plus next to them, unless he is at 5 red stars. You click on the plus and it evolves them into the next age.

As I remember, I have kept Robin with longbow as long as I could (something like till I could upgrade 2 stars for him) as his 3 hex attack is very useful. But don't worry about it, he will get 3 hex attack later again and because of that he deserves a place in my final lineup. Sure, Nelson is better, but IMO it's ok to buy any artefact instead of Nelson.

Significantly lower health, attack & defence than Nelson and he has no skills worth a damn, whereas Nelson has Commander.
