In the game, you will realize that AI will do anything to get a free hit. Whether it's a siege gen or an archer, try to put some cavalry at least 2-3 hexes from them, and for money use Maria(obviously),
What I hate about the medieval age campaign is that ET is always trying to get you to face longbowmen.
I would use hex grid to make sure that the gens are away from archers.

Those longbowmen general archers have the ability to (one shot kill cavalry) I know i will have will have to sacrifice either alex,Hannibal or barbarossa (when i get him)or all,to slow them down. Then there are other missions i am sure where have to face the same ordeal. Robin should maybe be upgraded to crossbow hmm,(still on fence on that one) But a strong new general is certainly needed. |

You CANNOT sacrifice your gens. I made a trial run with weaker gens, lvl 40 James Wolfe, lvl 30 Cleopatra, lvl 30 Jeanne d-Arc, lvl 40 Lincoln, lvl 30 Yoshitsune, lvl 30 Batu Khan.
All with grey equipment & lower gen skill lvls than yours (most being lvl 1).
I managed to win on turn 15. You have to ignore the archery near the fixed OP longbowmen & the barracks leading to final target.
You MUST capture 1st target by turn 5-6.
Yes, I know lvl 40 gens aren't fair but their lvl, James Wolfe's Canadian Royal Guards & Yoshitsune's Samurai make up for lack of better equipment, gen skill lvls, etc.
