The combination of “Strike” AND “Surprise” is what distinguishes the best cavalry generals in the game - therefore Junot, Savary, Charles, and the Archduke don’t belong on this list and Lasalle should be added.
Berthier also isn’t godlike until you train him on movement; which runs counter to your criterion for cavalry greatness.
I have maxed out Lan, Golitsyn, Berthier, Lasalle, and Dombrowski in my HQ, and that’s how I’d rank their greatness after playing a *%^$-ton of EW4. Berthier’s movement is great, but ultimately his damage output is consistently behind Lan and Golitsyn.

You still use lasalle? Read the general guide of Picton pls. Archduke C has strike which is all a cav need plus he has five training and flag. Junot, Charles is just base on how cheap they are. I get it that you are rich but why will you buy lasalle? Murat,Radesky, and lannes is even better. You do notice that mobility doesn't really do a thing to cavalry right. In addition, since you are that rich just buy according to the guide of picton, Erich or my analysis. Lan>Berthier=Fat guy from poland=old austrian guy>Laselle>golitsyn (all their output is about the same.)

You need to put a lot on berthier, but in the end, you don't waste a slot on having to put a geography item on golitsin.

You need to put a lot on berthier, but in the end, you don't waste a slot on having to put a geography item on golitsin. A war horse costs 720 medals, Berthier costs 3500 medals to upgrade. |

Golitsyn: War Horse, Snare Drum Berthier: Snare Drum, Flintlock Pistol I don’t find the flintlock pistol or the tent to be absolutely necessary items to put on your generals. And my Berthier still only has 2 stars in cavalry because I am lazy 😂😂😂 |

However, as you mentioned Radetsky or Dabrowski would be a better investment as they are him just with defense art. Murat is good too. Imo, the iap cavarly generals aren’t all that necessary in this game as tier 2 generals can replace them. Savary or Sulkowski can replace murat (savary is good on navy as well), Lan, Berthier, and Goltsyn can replace Radetsky, Dabrowski, and Lassalle. |
