Bernadotte is a good general, but he’s too expensive for what he offers. For his price range, you can get Massena, Barclay or Lannes, Lannes being actually considerably cheaper than him. I rate him 3 stars.

Karl III Johan is an incredibly important figure here in Norway. He enforced the personal union between Norway and Sweden by beating us to the ground in the Swedish-Norwegian War of 1814. He would later try to limit the parliament's power, but never really managed to do so. Tensions between Sweden and Norway would intensify the next few years with both sides preparing for war, but he let the parliament off instead of declaring a 2nd Swedish-Norwegian War. That would later on dissolve the personal union between the two countries.
That's the gist of it. History is more complicated than that. Too bad he's not really viable in this game.

Anyone else find it hard to kill this dude in some missions Suchet in the 1812 conquest as Spain is on a whole other level of annoying. He has ambush, an ambulance, cover (which I have never seen trigger funnily enough, and a crap ton of defense). Well, no wonder he’s known as “Fox of Spain”. The game itself acknowledges this in Suchet's description.
