Here is my advice to complete this mission, first put down one of your generals on the ship that has no generals, second pit the other ones on the units. Now you need to send the two units with a General to kill the General over the bay. The French will guard you as you cross the river so no need to worry, just kill the General. Next, take all your naval units and attack General Hood in the north. Spam corvettes to keep attacking him. By the time you kill Hood, the French should have killed all the naval units guarding the port you need to take, just take it and you’ll win. Hope this helps, that was how I did it.

I don't really remember the details on how I did this, I just know that I captured the northern island first and that Clinton leaves Chessapeake eventually

Clinton can be lured out by the pre-spawned inf & killed by naval bombardment. You also have to flank the enemy constantly to demoralize them & weaken them. Plus, rush the Southwest port quickly, or else the Brits are gonna keep spamming ships from there. |

You don't have to save the french ships even though they are circled in red. I always end up running out of industry even when upgrading industrial zones so maybe infantry could be used just to lower moral on enemy ships using spare gold.

Round 1: Build a Artillery camp on the level 4 city to recruit artillery, place your bought general (doesn't matter if he's infantry or anything, and if you dont have one that's ok.) on the free ship you get and place clinton on the free infantry. Use some gold to upgrade the market and industry.
Round 2: Buy a siege artillery piece and place Jourdan on it. Begin moving Clinton towards the infantry general youre supposed to eliminate and support the french fleet with your other general on the ship.
Round 3: Move Jourdan to the edge next to where your port is and begin firing on the first British naval general youre supposed to eliminate and begin building corvettes. And upgrade your industry and market. (Dont upgrade the level 3 city.)
Round 4: Your Clinton should be on land and the first british fleet should be down. Hood should be attacking Jourdan and now you can use the free American general you're given to attack hood as well.
Round 5: The enemy Clinton shpuld be moving towards or already attacking your Clinton, no need to worry the French fleet will bombard him the next round. Hood should still be alive (if not then capture the port he was guarding).
Once Hood dies the British troops will lose morale and you should be able to easily capture the two ports and finish off Clinton.

Edit: Took me 5 rounds to capture the two ports so you be finished anywhere from rounds 9-12

I'm still losing this level every time I try. Maybe I'm just an unlucky person who doesn't belong to EW6. I still have only Clinton and Jourdan (no other general bought), and can not win this level. I tried your advice. It worked in the first turns, but my French allieds died out of nowhere, and Clinton in his fight against the enemy Clinton has only just bad RNG.

1st put jourdan on the heavy artillery and clinton on the riflemen in the city, move clinton south and move jones and the crovette one hex near jourdan and spawn corvettes in the port. 2nd demoralize every ship that goes near to jourdan and concentrate fire on the target while still spawning corvettes, continue to move clinton southward, after killing jervis you can divide your ships to go north and south to attack both shipyards and also to help kill hood(let jourdan stay in the land cause he can reach hood easily). 3rd land clinton to help capture the southern port(the enemy clinton will eventually leave chesapeake to engage you, just stay close to your ally ships so they can backup you). 4th now you can merge your ships form the south and north to invade the port in the west. Hope this will help you
