This is the ultimate guide for the Imperial Eagle series' North America II campaign.
It build's upon Arya Stark's tips/guide.
Gens needed: 1 inf gen, 1-2 cav gen and 1-2 arty gens. (Depends on whether you have two cav or two arty gens within an assumed 4 gen lineup.)
Note: I used Arnold and Diez as well as endgame Isabella and Sophia. They had access to a variety of attack and movement items, but the strategy remains the same.
Your goal is to destroy the British remnants around Cleveland and to conquer the USA. This will be a two-pronged attack against two relatively powerful foes, with Mortier leading the starting grounded inf westwards while the rest will be fighting against the main American force.
The non-aligned Indians under Cornplanter will draw some attention away and defeat some enemies, softening them.
Your allies will soften the coast up and the Dutch are escorting some reinforcements. Do assist the two.
Since there are no trading posts, there is no need to upgrade Factories and excessive Farms. Focus on upgrading towns and cities.
Your fastest arty gen should be deployed on the starting heavy arty and has to minimally move 2 hexes per turn on open ground. Ie. The gen has to enable the heavy arty to move in a similar way to a normal light arty unit.
If you have a second arty gen, you need to check their speed. If they are fast enough to repeat the above with another heavy arty unit, build a 2X heavy arty unit in Trenton and deploy your 2nd arty gen. If not, build a 2X light arty unit in Trenton and deploy your 2nd arty gen.
Your inf gen will be deployed on the 2X guards and your (best) cav gen on the 2X armoured car.
Phase 1: The Battle of Jersey
Attack Trenton and capture it.
Your armoured car cav gen will assist Mortier's group in crossing the Delaware before rejoining the main force.
All the starting grounded inf will march westwards with Mortier while the rest will move towards Philedelphia.
Land your reinforcements ASAP.
Use flanking tactics to take out the frigate. Fire upon the privateer from afar.
Remember to upgrade the cities and farms. For now, upgrade farms to provide enough food to sustain the campaign.
Cross the Delaware, take the western town and destroy enemy forts in the way.
Phase 2: Battles of Maryland and Penslyvania
Penslyvania theatre:
- Destroy the fort in the way. Mortier takes point.
Capture and develop the town immediately beside the British territory. This will be the point to spam troops to attack Cleveland.
- You may consider destroying the nearby garrison.
Maryland theare:
- Focus on taking out the nearby machine gun gen, rocket arty and guards cav in this order of priority. Deal with them depending on how your troops are deployed and where they are located. The first two threats will attack your troops soon after your troops cross the river(s).
- Defend your Dutch allies from the coastal fort and the light arty by the coast using your troops on land. Finish off the attacking American navy using your ships.
- At the same time, attack Philedelphia, seize the nearby stables before surrounding Baltimore.
- Take out the large fort.
- Taking and developing the other town beside the British territory is an optional choice. This can be used to draw Rowland in. Do so by spamming at most three 2X light cav from the stables to attack the town.
Phase 3: Desperate final struggle
Cleveland theatre:
- Wear down the fort and privateer using Mortier.
- As soon as the town is ready, spam 1X light inf, then 1X grenadiers. When your economy can fund it, spam 1-2X guards.
- Paget may attack this town.
- The other town, if taken, can spam line inf if Rowland is drawn in.
- Beware of Paget and the fort! They are very powerful, but they can be ignored as long as Cleveland falls and is held.
- Even if Mortier is defeated and your towns are lost, focus on holding Cleveland.
Carolina theatre:
- Surround and conquer Washington. Use the bridge to the west to do so. You may bombard Washington using your ironclad.
- Beware the armoured car!
- Spam light inf and/or light arty from Washington.
- Beware of Dearborn's counterattack! The nearby troops may join in.
- Take the stables and quickly take Richmond. Ignore Yorktown and Dearborn.
- Any threats at sea should've been cleared out by now and all American ports are to be occupied.
