Should I sell Barclay for Karl? Get both of them if you're a real man Do you need 3 infantry generals for Italy campaign, Spanish War, and Crimea?

They wreck cities together

Antonina of Philippopolis , u need another Art gen, only John isn't enough to break the enemy Thanks for advising, my john got bumped to prince then I did use an unupgraded napoleon whom captured the smaller cities SE of Reims. My result was One Star at 31 rounds. Brutal. Because I lost Wellesley and Napoleon at round 12. Which was to soon. Everything was going smoothly until I missed a move somewhere. Which made going to Paris annoyingly long. I finished up a few days ago btw. When I do go back I was thinking of implementing some forts along the way for fun. If not , make better use spam art or cav.

Hello there !
I'm trying to do this mission aswell but after trying some strategies it still resist. For me, all the french cities are hostiles, and i don't find a good path. The latest strategies i have tried is to take Reims and the lvl3 cities at north and south, then heading to Strasbourg and Metz (to have a good economy and spam line infantry). My gen are Karl, Washington, Murat, Kutuzov, Gates and Jourdan. My techs are all pretty high (lvl 4 or 5). Any idea of what i'm doing wrong ? Thank you ! (Btw i'm new on the forum, don't know if i must present myself or whatever).

If you want to focus on an inf oriented lineup, I recommend replacing Gates with Massena to complete your 3 inf gen formation. Also, you may want to increase your arty firepower so that you can swiftly capture the French cities. I recommned Mahmud II for this role as he is good and an aura gen.

Also, you only have Murat as a cavalry gen, so send him to where there are a lot of infantry and artillery units. Karl and Washington must stick together and try going for the center, while Kutuzov trail behind. Gates and Jourdan aren't that good, but are still worth placing on units so they become decoy. You don't need to present myself in any way, just follow the rules set and you're good .

Ok, well i finally managed to win this mission with only one star, i will retry with your advices. Btw is Alexander 1 worth it or should i wait for Mahmud II (or even Shopia ?). After reading a lot of messages on the forum, i'm seeing that aura gen are really interresting i'm thinking of replacing Gates, Jourdan, Falsen and Victoria. Maybe it will be more helpfull for this mission (and this others). Thank you guys for your help !

He's also easier to max his skills, so there's that .

I know it's too late to say, but I won with 3 stars. I used: Alexander, Jourdan, Massena, Mahmud II, Dabrowski and Murat (Murat used an ambulance and pistol flintock, Dabrowski canvas tent and spear, Massena Beck Rifle and tent, Mahmud Artillery Telescope and Alexander High Power). Damage technology was completely improved. I started taking Reims the two cities south of Paris, as they provided money, so the French surrendered for a few shifts and I went to capture Paris, I managed and was advancing to Strasbourg, but before I took a level 3, then Metz left neutrality, I captured -a, Bazaine took, killed Bazaine, recovered Metz and divided forces for the city north of Metz, took Jourdan and the rest of my Dabrowski there, and recruited some grenadiers in Reims, with the help of Blast. To capture Strasbourg, I spammed heavy artillery and used my Mahmud almost dying, but I took the city within 20 turns.
