I was looking for a good naval general. Saw Treville which seemed tempting to me, but then I saw this thread... and now I’m aiming for Victoria. Nah, Victoria is really bad. Victoria is like Fletcher while Treville is like Kuznetsov. You are better off tho getting Nelson or Sakurako. You really don’t need a naval general until really late in the game luckily. That’s nice. I will aim for Nelson, then. Does navy have large amounts of HP in this game? The fact that Sakurako is more defensive doesn’t tempt me that much to buy her, unless in this game Navy HP matters more than Navy ATT.

Defensive matters very much as navy can’t heal unless they take damage. Sakurako deals less damage than nelson (slightly) and can’t attack twice, but she takes -25% damage than him on ships.

Ah, so Nelson is more offensive while Sakurako is more defensive. Nelson has the ability to attack twice IF he destroys the enemy while Sakurako takes 1/4 less damage than Nelson. I prefer Sakurako, then. I value a high attack and defense powerhouse more than a powerhouse with high attack that can attack twice if the enemy is killed but that doesn’t have as much defense. Also, -25% is a considerable amount. Plus Sakurako is way cheaper. Thanks a lot, Paulus!

Haha, know dont forget about sakurako either Sakurako is physically beautiful, I have to admit. Nelson is still arguably the best general though. He’ll be better in conquest due to him having a damage advantage to her. He’ll also be better in situations by himself. But you can definitely cheap out and save 1500 medals, enough to buy massena or mahmud ii, and use sakurako for the exact same purpose. You might even need both for crimean war.

Like Rundstedt in WC4 who is not the best of the best Infantry generals but he is 1000 medals cheaper than Yamashita who only has Ace Forces and Bayonet Charge on him (not good enough to justify those extra 1000 medals, and Infantry movement is high by default) Sorry for mentioning WC4. Anyway, I will see if I will get Nelson for the Crimean War when I’m advanced in the game.

The next best navy general, treville, is not even close to as good as her. In ew5 and ew6, its all about using teams rather than sending off one overpowered general for each front in conquest.

Understood. Treville was powerful in the EW4 Imperial Eagle mission that allows you to control him for the first time. And, yes, Nelson was a powerhouse in a Battleship. But I kinda had the impression that Horatio's HP was low.

Yeah nelson had no damage reduction skills, much like victoria in ew6, so keeping him alive on a battleship was challenging. But on artillery, he is an absolute nightmare to the enemy.

Wow, that’s unexpected. Makes me think of Yamamoto being a decent Artillery general in WC4.

I rate Victoria 4 stars. Navy generals are unneeded until Crimean War, and by then you will likely be able to have Nelson or Sakurako, maybe even both. Victoria is Jones but with added Tactics Master which is a good skill, but I would still prefer Escorting.

Britain has had an actual Princess Victoria. Given that the game has WW1 tanks, it’s possible that they also included her. Remember that the US wasn’t Britain's only colony. Maybe she dreamt of visiting the colonies the UK still had by the latter half of the 19th century. However, the in-game Victoria is likely fictional.
