Yeah then he could run outflanked with real low health with snare drum Well you can fix the low health by using him more. But yeah, maybe. I think he is good, but not as a starting general, as he is too reliant on a snare drum Another choice is poniatowski with snare drim and 5 stars in cavalry.

Pontiawski is the best hybrid in the game imo. He can be used on anything. But upgrading him will be worse than Berthier

Or you could get Davout. But still, I view poniatowski better than Davout.

Well you have to regroup him to five stars, and his initial movement is quite slow, but yeah. He can be very good on cav, infantry, artillery, and navy. Although Davout does have higher output

Imo Hull is the worst starting general you can get thats popular (first tier generals) as he is just a worse maria. Afterwards, Blasius as he is hull with spy. Even though that is quite a nice improvement, Arnold is Blasius without formation but is a trainer and has 5 business stars. After Blasius, we have Rowland who is pretty decent with 4 infantry stars and leadership. But he still isn’t quite at the big leagues.

In terms of starting generals imo
Infantry:
Zakrevsky > Lusignan >= Arnold > Rowland > Blasius > Hull
Cavarly:
Dumouriez > Diez > Junot
Artillery:
Kutaisov > Gazan = Marmont = Sokolnicki

Leadership cant be fixed but its not that good for infantry. I just think its better for cavalry. Maybe, but I do feel infantry and artillery are the most vulnerable towards cavarly Cavalry is immune against charge (drop of morale), so your 'feeling' is correct.

But upgrading him will be worse than Berthier You can’t compare upgrading Berthier on one unit and Poniatowski on all units. In that way every gen was more expensive than Berthy. I would only max Pon’s best starting stars (Inf and cav) and movement. You can have Sophia and Isabella on artillery for free, Kate and Victoria for Navy, so an Inf/Cav-Pon is enough hybrid. That’s 2.650 medals. (Do the same with Lannes is 2.910). Of course they’ll never be as strong as Berthier on cav, since they are hybrids. So comparing them makes no sense. edit: sorry Friedrich “Fried Rice” Paulus , I just realised how old your post is. Haven’t been in this thread before.
