My third guide here yee, so with UK your main focus should be the European front. A good tank general is needed for this, got A rank with vatutin, but messe should be fine too. So, the UK is split into 3 fronts:
European (most impt)
South East Asian
African
Main strategy: be able to produce heavy tanks and spam them in Europe.
How do we do that? Well firstly move your navy towards the English channel, do not attack donitz but just rush to France, the German sub fleet will go to usa to get crushed. Then, move EVERYTHING you've got in UK to park them in France. Then, do not attack but just park them there. When Belgium falls to low health, you may take it to start spamming medium tanks. In London build a 3 stack heavy tank for your tank gen and station him in France too. Try to use your generals, aircraft carriers and strategic bombers from London to take out the German tank generals like manstein rommel and guderian first, but let Paris get hit by the axis. When Spain, Italy and Germany manage to take Paris to 0 health, swoop in to occupy the city and start wildly spamming heavy tanks with the money you've accumulated. Defend all you can until the attacking enemy is rather depleted, then move to take the surrounding French cities. Head south to Lyon and invade on two fronts for Spain and Italy, all this while spamming heavy tanks. After the major cities in Italy and Spain are gone, you can cease to defend Paris and start an attack on the two gaps of the maginot line, taking out German cuties and Berlin. Then, head east to defeat Japan and South to clear out the axis. After you get Berlin, everything is super easy.

What about your African and Asian colonies? Won't they get destroyed?
The answer is, you should not be spending money on them as you need to save up for the defense of paris(which is gonna take up about 7000 cash), so for Africa don't move anything and just defend, don't worry if they occupy your colony, your main force from Europe can take care of that later. In asia, move all your troops from South East Asia to Thailand, and stay put in Yangon first, soon India will assist you and with a bit of luck you can take Thailand! If Thailand expands out of control Australia will handle the situation, and even if they dont you still got more than 30 heavy tanks in Europe;)

And I kid you not I literally have done exactly what you say hahaha Did this happen before the recent updates? Not sure if there were AI balancing measures added, but asking just in case. Also, when you say "max tech" it literally means max tech and not just all WW2 Europe tech, right? The way I would play would spam light to defend against Bangkok. You may want to deploy arty to whittle down its city HP. Use Bangkok as a base to send MI to the front lines in China. Be ready to retake and hold any cities in the region against fierce assaults. This is the only way to secure a front line base. You may want to deploy a sub or two to check any nearby Japanese ship that wanders off. In Africa, the main point is to surround your Italian enemies with numbers and quickly destroy their formations. If they tried to attack your cities, use their walls to reduce the enemy's firepower. If you have the resources, deploying armoured cars tend to be highly effective here as the Italians can only throw inf at you once they run out of armour and arty. Your most mobile troops should aim to attack Mogadishu first. Once you mop up Italian East Africa, work with your allies to take out Libya. In Europe, I likely moved all my ships, except for Mountbatten's fleet, to engage Donitz's fleet. If you feel that you have always successfully subdued the nearby German and Spanish fleets, you may consider landing the 2 units from Ireland to take A Coruna. Mountbatten's fleet is to attack the port at Konigsberg ASAP and contain any German admiral that spawns. On the mainland, avoid the German heavy tanks as much as possible. Remember to concentrate your troops or cooperate with your allies. Keep a line of spammed motorised inf or assault inf to reinforce your troops on the continent. Hit the weaker enemy troops. Either aim to recapture lost territory or force an advance into German soil. When the initial onslaught is defeated, the follow up waves of troops and gens tend to include weaker gens that are less threatening. Press your advantage at this time and counterattack ASAP.
Note: The last time I've started and cleared a WC4 was a few months to a year ago. I'm extremely rusty so this^^ is made based on vague recollections and assumptions. |

My U.K. battleplan is slightly different... the east side carriers are sent to hug Norway in orders to help defend against the German paratrooper assaults and to control the Baltic as much as possible. When able to afford it I add a third carrier. It will take all three of them to help stop the Nazi amphibious assault around round 20.
Meanwhile that first round I move the west side navy up to Dublin = it causes Donitz and his pack to head toward NYC instead of toward me. Afterward those vessels plus the majority of my starting generals and troops will head down to lay siege to the Spanish western African provinces / take the port of Sevilla / bottle up the strait of Gibraltar.
All of that is in support of my African troops which I have sent from the SE group ( those others back east move to aid Egypt ). I CONCENTRATED ON THE SPANISH FIRST DUE TO AVAILABILITY OF REINFORCEMENTS FROM THE ATLANTIC. I can always renegade eastern Africa... my goal is to try to save the French colonies while at the same time securing naval domination of the Atlantic for the Allies. It makes a huge difference in the long-term.
In the south Pacific I try to do the same thing: preserve the French holdings and build a naval blockade between the Philippines and SE Asia... I let India help me out with taking out Thailand and slowly stockpile troops for a northern assault for after the Nazi amphibious assault is dealt with and after I have turned my attention to everywhere Italy has stepped foot. CONTROL THE WATERS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE... LET MY ALLIES THROW THEMSELVES AT EUROPE AND JAPAN... and then come in like a Vandal to steal away what the enemy can no longer defend.

I did it with gunderian and konev, cant really say what strategy i used as I pieced it along as I went. Took a few tries but finally did it, tech was almost full WW2 pacific.

i did it while crushing Africa and japan and with low tech by placing a triple heavy tank on Paris on literally every turn, you can do that because you get a lot of money per turn, and then i used what was left for Africa and Asia. to be fair i think japan took an American city but i don't remember

Now I beat it with 1 gen. Just used maxed Gunderian with Maxed tank tech (with medals boosting) on a triple stacked heavy tank. He wiped out everything in his path without taking much damage.

Funny thing here is that I have found a working " middle ground " strategy for 1939 UK... Try this: hold your ground while investing in atomic, taking opportunity gains as you can, but getting your unlocks as quickly as possible. What you are going for is upgrading the 4 cities you own south of Saudi Arabia. Upgrading their factories lets you work from a safe spot to overwhelm Africa and Asia... reinforce Russia and Egypt, etc.. You have your hand in the Pacific theatre and can eliminate the Axis in a south to northwestern grind. You also have all of that neutral territory to gobble up if you want. I tried this on a whim. Defended Britain with fortifications, navy and air... lay waste to Romania,etc from across the Black Sea... I think it is worth playing just as a kind of different angle of play. |

The way I did it: I got S Rank, only used Gurderian (49 turns) Tip: You will want a general with good mobility, its recommended. Spam troops in Africa and take over the continent. Take over Thailand as quickly as you can, otherwise it will become a nuisance. Use Singapore to produce medium tanks and howitzers. If T'land takes some French colonies, take them (remember paratrooping will be very crucial here.) In Europe you will want to take both Pound and Mountbatten and attack German Heavy Tanks with generals fiercely. Use Montgomery and make 3 stack HT in London with your tank general. Land them in France. Take Slim and Wingate to Spain, and build a navy for that. Take A Coruna and you will be able to attack Spain from both sides. Gradually take over Japan - don't be afraid to lose territory. Use Nanking and Shanghai as your main fronts to take Peking and Nagasaki. Take Korea ASAP as you can use it to paratroop on Japanese Mainland. IMPORTANT: IN THE BEGGINING YOU DO NOT HAVE MUCH PROBLEMS, SO CONSTRUCT RESEARCH/Technology CENTERS. The development is not the best so you will need to do that fast. Once you have taken over France and Spain, construct bunkers on the border with Mainland Italy, because you will be dealing with Germany. By now you will have a good source of money thanks to Japan and NC, so construct Super Artillery units and Heavy Tanks. I put a command Center in Cologne so that the troops may perform better. That's pretty much it. And yea don't forget about Italy  |
