Hi all I've noticed there are no guides for this yet in the forum and in the wc4 library so here goes. Strategy is the same as normal mode, but slightly different. Now just push hard to get all the Russian cities nearest to you with all your generals, do mini hold the ground with all of them. Then use units to block the other Soviet generals coming from sea from the north while some weaker generals attack them from a range(artillery and heavy tanks) while you send all the other better generals to help clear off the remaining Soviet troops. The Netherlands and Belgium will remain neutral in the normal game mode, but in hard mode they will turn into your enemy at around mid game. They will be hard to fend off, so expect most of your generals dying. However, even with all that I consider this the easiest nato hard mission, and with lousy strategy and generals on my very first try I even got 2 stars, so if you can save up and defend well enough(morale and bunkers are your defense weapons) this mission should be a piece of cake, if not a whole chunk of cake(tedious spam)

If there is anyone else with better strategies feel free to add on I think that with enough firepower, Normal guide's method of capturing Berlin before dealing with other issues is a good strategy as well. It's just more risky, leaving your rear wide open.

I hated this mission, and then I got Guderian, Konev, and better tech, and I love this mission now.

This mission proves to me how important general upgrades are. Guderian completely maxed, Rommel and Konev with max rumour and both Gud and Konev with explosives (not maxed for Konev) I absolutely destroyed this mission. You have 22 turns to defend the 3 cities, by turn 20 I (and my allies) had complete control of every city and I only had to destroy a Russian land fort to end the mission on turn 21. I couldn't believe how easy I found this mission after struggling so much with the normal difficulties. Even when Belgium and Netherlands switch sides, they were swiftly dealt with by the beast that is Guderian. My general line up is currently, Eisenhower, Messe, Guderian, Konev and Rommel. It fills me with potentially false hope that I can clear hard mode with no additional generals. But I have no doubt that without a maxed Guderian, I'd probably struggle to get even 1 star. Wish me luck for the rest of my medal farming campaign!
