*Disclaimer: Although i mentioned at some post that i was able to "easily" defeat 1812 conquest using Prussia, it was relative compared to the harder countries i tried, such as holy roman empire 1812(failed at doing so), France 1815(still ongoing) and such. Prussia 1812 is still a pain in the *Auto corrected*, even Naples 1812 can be a pain in the *Auto corrected* if you failed to expand fast enough. But i kept hearing how Prussia 1812 is impossible or really hard, which it isn't, as long as you know what to do. These are general rules, and a more specific guide will be made given that i have the time to do so. Pictures will also be added. Feedback is appreciated
PRUSSIA 1812:
Required generals: 1 strong cavalry general and 1 strong infantry general(possible to do without generals, but you will suffer, and unlike Frederick the great, there will not be a "Miracle of the house of Brandenburg."
Required items: 2 ambulances, 2 tents
Required tech: high lvl for light infantry hp and defense, high lvl hp and defense for heavy cavalry (optional: +2 movement speed for both cavalry and infantry)
Other Requirements : Sabaton music playing on the background (not optional, 100% required)
So Prussia, the army who has a state as stated by Voltaire, is located between Poland, a France, denmark, and Bavaria, and also those ambitious french generals stationed just outside russia. So why Prussia and not denmark or sweden, or even algeria? Admittedly, Denmark, sweden and algeria are easier since they are safer. But the advantage Prussia has over those other 2 star countries is speed of conquering other countries and the amount of pressure you can exert on other countries immediately. See, if you're like me and enjoy blitzing enemies to oblivion and tactically outmaneuvering enemies, Prussia gives you that opportunity to prove your strategic and tactical knowledge since you're surrounded by enemies, and on average finish faster than the other 2 star countries. The drawback is that Prussia can be a lot more risky, since a lot of friction can occur: you may have ignored an important city and lost it the next round, you tried attacking the opposing massena and he took half your general's health, the french army was able to overwhelm your militia and take Berlin, your siege got slowed down because some random general spawned. Just have patience, since playing Prussia 1812 can be both exciting and frustrating. Funnily enough, you may get to experience what Frederick the great felt during the 7 years war, except Russia and Austria are your allies, and one of your win conditions has something to do with Russia.
Early rounds (Turn 1-20)
The most difficult rounds(and exciting) . Your general goal from round 1 is to position your forces so they would surround Leipzig. Buy a heavy cavalry from the stable you have near Berlin, and place your cavalry general on that heavy cavalry. Place your infantry general on the grenadier, and just move towards leipzig. Scharnhorst however, should move him towards Prague. This enables him to attack leipzig next turn. You should be able to take Leipzig at turn 2. At turn 2, send your cavalry general towards hamburg, while you march you remaining units towards frankfurt. If davout attacks the unnamed city III at the right of Berlin, then you are lucky ( i haven't found how to make him consistently do it), since you are relieving pressure from the Russians and city II can survive longer, making it easier for you to influence the Baltic. After you capture several more cities, just spam militias. Make sure to hold city IV cities above, while giving city III below to your enemies if you are unable to hold them. It's fine to give cities away as long as you can capture other cities in the next 3 rounds, since your allies can recapture them anyway, and if you're greedy, just send a militia or 2 to recapture them when your allies siege them. Also, don't make the mistake of holding too many cities since it would be harder to control. As stated above, just give up the lower income cities in exchange for the larger cities your enemies have. Another thing to keep in mind is the enemy generals. General rule of thumb is to simply ignore them, and harass them with militias. The exception to these rule are massena and Murat. Massena can siege fast, while Murat can kill your militias fast. Use your strong generals to deal with them. You don't have to kill them, just get them to below half their health and you can resume to city sieging. Murat has a tent tho, so kill him if you can, or surround him with high health militias.
Later rounds( turn 20 above )
There are 3 options you can go from here : push straight towards Lyon and help the Spaniards and Portuguese deal with the pesky french infantry, go help autria against italy, naples and the ottomans, or just go straight to italy. Based on my experience, Pushing straight towards Lyon is the better option out of the 3, since it frees the Spanish and Portuguese forces, and they are freely able to unleash their forces against the remaining french forces, and would advance towards italy. Just march back with them, and the game is good as done. Helping the austrians is also a good option, but it would take a while since there are more forces there, and advancing towards italy can be suicide if you don't have ambulances or tents(but a lot faster). You should be able to finish in around 60 turns or less depending on what route you took and how strong your generals are, which is enough for an S. I'm pretty sure if you finish under 90 turns using a two star country is enough for an A or S, depending on the number of cities you captured and other factors.
Other tips:
>Concentrate your forces while dividing your enemy forces. This can be done by positioning your generals so they are able to attack one of 2 or 3 nearby cities in the next turn. Simply attack the undefended one. If unable to capture due to a general or unit spawning, just move on to the other cities and leave one or two units to take the city in case the defender leaves its position, or just brute force the capture if you are able to. By doing so, enemy units would be forced to separate if they want to attack your units and cities.
>Let your opponents waste resources while spending your gold on militias. This can be done by using a cavalry unit or any unit for that matter to simply keep attacking a city until a general or infantry spawns. Mission accomplished. Move on to the next city and harass the spawned general. This also helps the Spanish front, since by making the french spawn generals at your side of the battle field, the victory at the peninsula will only be a matter of time, since they won't deal with the general spam.
>Conserve your general's hp. It's ok to make them battle other generals, but make sure they don't go below half hp. Your generals would be the one to carry you in this conquest.
>Don't upgrade cities. It's okay if you play other countries, but for Prussia, all your cities are vulnerable to capture. Better spend your resource on militias or donations.
>Focus cities. Obvious tip, but there's always the temptation of wanting to attack units unnecessarily
>Sweden would get it's *Auto corrected* beat by Denmark if you fail to invade copenhagen, or protect the baltic coast. It's fine tho, since Sweden, Russia and the Brits would reclaim lost land after.
>If you feel like quitting because you are being overwhelmed by enemy forces, just remember that you are relieving pressure from the Russians and Austrians, giving them breathing room and would eventually become powerful. The brits would also eventually invade. Just don't loose hope
> Russia is your savior. Just hold on for the first 20 turns, and everything should be easier after.
>Use your low health units as bait to absorb one or 2 more attacks from enemy units. This can save a city from falling to enemy hands
>Donate only after you are sure you don't need the money. I delayed most of my conquests because i kept donating gold to my allies without checking if one of the high level cities is defended
> If you are a veteran player and have 6 strong general, just blitz Italy and conquer the ottomans after
>After the French and most of it's allies is defeated, don't be stingy and use all your resources to beat the remaining enemy. I made what should have been a 70 turn 1815 morocco conquest into a 105 turn one because i got lazy building grenadiers to invade the south Americas.
> If one of your generals die, you can exit the game and transfer the ambulance or tent to your surviving general, and go back to the conquest. Only works for your generals, and not the generals given to you at the beginning of the game.
To be continued...
