Algeria 1815, the easiest 2 star country( or the 2nd if you mastered the art of conquering using Gran Columbia thanks to the guide of Maj. James E. Ross, which is just a few threads below), isn't really the best country for speed running 1815 conquest, but compared to Sweden and Denmark, it is much safer despite being surrounded by 4 enemies, which is the tribal union, morocco, Egypt and to some extent Naples. If you play Denmark and Sweden, then you would be facing France. Pretty ez right? Not really. If you aren't able to push fast enough, the french will steamroll you and your allies like you were some insignificant fly. Also, remember that France is more powerful than all your surrounding enemies. While France is united and prepared to cumber stomp you and your Scandinavian butt . I don't consider Spain as a threat since they get stomped by the french, which is free real estate for you. Also, Algeria is more newbie friendly, since Sweden and Denmark requires pretty strong generals so you can push the French back as fast as possible so that the horde of old guards won't come crashing down on your allies. For Algeria, you can easily pick your battles, and can pretty much defeat your neighbors at around turn 25. Completing Algeria can be quite long tho if you don't donate to the US early enough, even with the help of Brazil beating Mexico, which forces you to plan the path of your generals just in case that happens. But don't worry about missing the timing of donating to America, or if you enjoy being the one destroying enemy armies and conquering cities, i got you covered. I finished Algeria in 111 turns with an S despite taking another 25-30 turns to conquer the Americas, which you can finish much faster if you time your donations to America right, and don't just skip turns after moving your generals and a few units because you got lazy micro managing every single unit that you have(which i did). For those who asks if you need a high tech or uberstrong general to do it, the answer is pretty much no. If you have weaker generals, just play safer, and let your other units do the fighting for you, and remember to only fight battles you know you can win, and battles that are worth the cost. Don't be that hero who sends his general to go heroically 1v1 an enemy general. Also, i would rate Algeria easier than Denmark and Sweden, since you don't need that high tech and Powerful generals, and you aren't pressured to push towards France as fast as possible to avoid the old guard spam. Also, if you came here so you can find a way to beat 1815 conquest using a 2 star country easily and quickly, then sorry to disappoint you, because there is no way to beat 1815 quickly except for having high tech in all units and having at least 6 powerful generals( but if you can prove me wrong by playing a new account with no generals and using units with no tech to win, then hell yeah do it. I think Tribal union can do it tho, just survive and donate. Just waiting for a madman to do it.)
Generals needed: 1 strong cavalry general, 1 or 2 infantry aura general(artillery general is optional, but if you want to use one, Mahmud II would be a beast here)
Techs : high level tech for light infantry hp and defense, some tech for heavy cavalry and artillery
Items needed: Ambulance, tent (prussian helmet and any other +defense or +hp is also needed, but not necessary)
Other requirements: some game knowledge, basic tactics, good music playing in the background
Color coding: Red = Difficult
Blue = Medium
Green = Easy
Others : X= general
Blue arrow= Ally pathing
Red arrow= your pathing
Green arrows=optional pathing
Specific guide:
TURN 1: Simply position your units at borders of the tribal union. Place your infantry general in the grenadier, and if you have 2 infantry generals, place the other one in the elite light infantry. If you want, declare war on the tribal union, or you can do it the next turn. As for your other units stationed near the border of Egypt, just position them at the border, and place your cavalry general on the heavy cavalry, and make sure to position him in the very center, to intimidate the Egyptians (optional of course). Start getting blast from your military facilities in Algiers, to make sure you can capture the nearest tribal union city on turn 2. Also, if you can make the grenadier at the far right move towards Egypt instead, and train yourself another grenadier in Algiers instead, which guarantees you can capture the tribal union city II at turn 2. You can also send that grenadier towards tribal union city II, then build another grenadier, but that would be overkill if you have 2 infantry generals.
Turn 2-25: Take the Tribal union. They should fall at around turn 3 or 4, even 5. It doesn't matter what turn, just conquer them before morocco enters war. Spain would be stupid enough to send 1 or 2 units to attack you. Deal with them then go back to conquering. After that, position your units to surround City III to the right of Rabat. You can declare war on Morocco immediately, but i prefer to position my units so that i can capture the 2 City III easily. After that, continue getting more blasts from your military facilities, and keep blasting cities. Buy some siege artillery and grenadiers and use them to defeat Morocco. Morocco should fall after 5-15 turns if you do it right. As for your units chilling with your Egyptian friends, just separate your units so the Egyptian army can enter your territories, thus dividing their units. You have the option to cut them off from one another, which can be tactically satisfying, but simply making them separate is enough. Just let your cavalry general enter Egypt in turn, along with some units and heavy artillery. If you want to capture Egypt faster, upgrade Benghazi once so you can build grenadiers. If you do this, just build grenadiers every two turns so when Egypt inevitably declares war, you will be ready. Just spam militias to protect the city the Egyptians are attacking, and build some siege artillery too. Some units from Naples and the Ottoman empire would help you defeat the Egyptians. At around turn 20-25, Morocco and Egypt should have fallen, and your infantry generals stationed in Morocco should be on their way towards Spain, while your cavalry general with most of your grenadiers should be heading towards Austria via Greece, while the artillery and some other wounded units head towards Russia via Ankara or Jerusalem.
Turn 25-60: This is where things would get a bit difficult, since your forces led by your cavalry general would face the combined forces of Prussia, Denmark, Sweden, Russia and Bavaria (Austria should be defeated now, and if not, very close to defeat). With your grenadiers and cavalry general, take some cities that are not surrounded by the enemies. If you want to capture one that is surrounded by enemies, make sure that a grenadier does the capturing(full health or near full health), or if you are confident that your cavalry general can take some hits without going dangerously low on health, then use your cavalry general. The reason this part is difficult tho is because you have to donate to the Brazilians and the US, and militias aren't enough to defend the hordes of enemies attacking your cities. Even line infantry won't be enough, and maybe even riflemen, depending on what city you have that your enemies are attacking. If you can afford to, delay Denmark once. If not, it's fine. Once Bavaria foolishly enters the war, just send your healthy grenadiers to surround each of their cities, and let your french, Italian and Sicilian allies attack the city. Help them damage it a little bit then capture it for yourself. As for your Cavalry general, let him path towards Russia. Escort him with some grenadiers and artillery you built, and make sure to make the Russians feel the siege, this time there won't be no scorched earth tactics for them to fall on to. Your aim here is to isolate your enemy generals, and slowly kill them using your units. After your enemies cannot spawn any more generals, just proceed to surround cities and take them one by one, and make sure some enemy units are near, so they can watch you take their cities, while knowing they can't do anything about it. If they are starting to amass units, reduce their numbers(or mow them all down if you have a strong and healthy cavalry general). As for the other force you sent to Russia from Jerusalem, just start to siege the nearest Russian city, and capture it. Don't forget to use your military facilities and tactics. Plague and Blast will be the most useful here, and get some forced march just in case your closest unit is a tile or 2 short of capturing a city. One good tactic to use here is by placing your units in a line, with some reserve forces behind them (the one i used is grenadiers at the front, with lancers as reserve, with some artillery support ). This way, you can prevent your enemy forces from pushing towards your cities, and you can in turn push their forces back. That would make it so you won't have to spam militias or line infantry to defend your cities, and would make you able to build stronger units to finally defeat your enemies. This also saves you resources, which you can donate to your American allies. If you are able to hold on, at around turn 50 Prussia should be close to defeat, Bavaria long conquered, Denmark and Sweden pushed back, while Russia tries desperately to push you back, to no avail.
As for your units in Spain, it would be a walk in the park, since the French most likely are close to beating them. Just capture Sevilla, then go for the Portuguese cities. Build a few riflemen and capture the cities the Spanish and or Portuguese soldiers are attacking, and just destroy any form of units that stand in your way. After Spain and Portuguese falls, let your infantry general/s take a ship in the Bay of Biscay, and start heading for the English channel towards Britain, or go to Ireland. If you decide to go to Ireland, just spam Grenadiers and siege artillery and send them to Britain. If you go to Britain which was the path i chose, use your Infantry general/s with some of your units to attack Birmingham. Don't worry about the ships, since the french would keep them occupied, and if there are a bit to many of them, just send some of your units as bait or a blockade to prevent them from attacking your stronger units. Also, don't attack London at all, since the French should be already dealing with them, and also most of the British forces are stationed there. Losing your generals because your foolishly attacked London is really bad. But if you do that, don't despair, since the battle is already half won, but it will be much slower if that happens. Also, by attacking Birmingham and going straight towards Manchester forces the British to send some of their forces towards you, making the French land in British soil safely. If you're greedy, just sent some unit or 2 near London, and capture it once the French take care of the units there.
Also, if you followed my advice well and adjusted to the chaos of the battlefield and managed to capture a lot of cities, your income would be around 800-900 gold. But before you reach that point,around turn 25-40 where the battle is still fierce, make sure to balance your resources so you can build units to defend and attack cities, and donate your remaining resources to either Brazil and US. If you notice that Brazil will surely win, just start donating it all to the US, so they can hold out longer. But if you're better at resource management than me or for some reason the US is actually winning, then thank Napoleon or whoever god or general there is, since you would be able to finish this conquest a lot faster. Also, funnily enough, if you read red text with green text below, you'd see yellow instead of green.
Turn 60 beyond: Clean up time. Don't worry if you go over your population limit, since you should have captured so many cities you should still be having 900 -1000 gold per turn. Use your cavalry general with your grenadiers and Siege artillery capture the Russian cities, and head towards St. Petersburg. Build siege artillery and some Grenadiers and let them march towards Moscow, and capture it, along with all the other nearby cities. As for your other units, let them invade Scandinavia, and let the french and Italians have their share of land. After you finished conquering mainland Europe, disband all your units stationed there. It's your choice if you also want to disband your cavalry general. As for your Units in Britain, let them invade Greenland. After they capture Greenland, use them to invade Canada. Upgrade the cities you captured so you can build grenadiers and artillery, and go massacre some Canadians. You can decide not to upgrade the cities, and instead build riflemen and heavy artillery, that would be stingy, but also works. After Canada falls, march them towards Mexico and you should earn that sweet victory. Another possible scenario that happens is that US beats Canada and Mexico with Brazil. Just continue sending your units to Canada, just in case the AI decides to spare some cities. Make Trump proud by keeping those Mexicans out of US borders(but if you play as the coalition, make sure his dream of keeping immigrants out would be crushed).
Why i took 111 turns: I didn't have any guide to read, so i decided to just play the game. It turns out i could have finished the game a lot quicker if i didn't let my Infantry generals just run around aimlessly. Could have saved me 30 turns. So if you follow my guide and won't waste moves, then you can finish this at around 70-90 turns, even earlier if you have 6 strong generals.
Here are the stats after i completed Algeria 1815, along with my tech and generals used ( I used 3 generals initially, and only added Mahmud II at around turn 60 to quicken up the game a bit)
Afterword:
If you want to be safe before attacking your enemy forces,then Algeria is the way to go. Sweden and Denmark are faster, but without good tech and strong generals it would take longer if you face the hordes of old guards, with Italian forces and Naples backing them up. Gran Columbia is also good, beating Brazil is pretty easy and conquering America is also easy, but conquering Europe is the hard part, since donations aren't enough to keep your allies safe from the Grandee Armee. Algeria seems to be the safest of the 2 star countries, but also the longest. But with patience, a total victory is inevitable. As Sun Tzu said : "Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat." Also, for the tips, as usual: concentrate your forces while dividing your enemy forces; use militias to defend, unless they can't, then use line infantry, rifleman or grenadier;Be an opportunist and capture every city you can, but leave some cities for your allies so they are able to sustain their own economy; If you made a mistake and want to quit, just remember that victory is just a matter of turns, and by following the main strategy, you'll eventually win.
