Seems to be a good Infantry general: Mountain Fighting has likely the same effects as in WC4 -Roar is likely this game’s counterpart to Rumor -Hide is likely this game's counterpart to Cover -And Intercept is likely this game's counterpart to Guerrilla Plus he can have an 8 in Infantry.

Another infantry general with no general fighting skills!
The infantry generals in this game have been mostly disappointing to me; why get a scout infantry general that is only good at killing archers for 546?!
Too slow, too situational, and overall not good, especially for the price

I'd get Burebista, ateast for national pride since he's the founder of the Dacian Kingdom. The Mountain Fight and Intercept skils seem kinda logical for him, since the capital of Dacia was in a mountainous region, and he used ambushes many times as his main tactic.

Considering we all do need someone to dump our mountain fighting scrolls into, would buying him be smart. Considering all 5 of his skills work together. Or would dolabella be a better choice for that task?
Possibility for the 3rd infantry general to buy, after ver and pompey of course.

One thing I find strange though on Burebista: the way EasyTech decided to depict him. The face and beard can be considered spot on, according to the common depictions of Dacians, but his clothes are a bit odd. They have more of an Eastern look than what is usually associated with the people of Dacia, like in these two images: Depiction of Burebista Not really him, but the last king of Dacia, Decebalus (Decebal in Romania) (87-106 AD)

But as far as I heard the question is not solved beyond any doubt. The ancestors of the modern Romanians could be Dacians as well as Roman settlers. These were brutal wars and we know that Romans usualy colonised conquered territories very extensively.

stoic, I agree with that, and I never said they are our soul ancestors. The Romans had a very important contribution, together with all population that came after. The Romans themselves came with settlers from across the empire, hole after that there came a millennium of migrations: Goths, Avars, Slavs, Bulgarians, Petchenegs, Cumans, Magyars, Mongols, Tattars, Greeks, Russians etc.

This guy hates archers. He was practically made to hunt archers. I reckon he can even slay caesar in 1 v 1.
Im curious if I face against him, will he be able to kill my commander? My commander is an archer specialist who has counterattack, rain of arrows, streetfighting and advantage. At all lvl 4 skills, my commander gains a bonus of +56 damage when counterattacking in an urban area. I only let my commander stay in defending my cities. I gave my commander the pharaoh scepter, I think it makes him fireproof. I made my commander fireproof so he wont be forced to move out of his comfort zone. I think fire deals more damage to my commander rather than anything else, I think rain of arrows lvl 4 reduce damage received by 20 in my urban area and returns the 20 damage to the enemy.
I also am using a fast capture team, strategy is to blitzkrieg the enemy city, then send my commander to capture it, then during the enemy turn, they send their troops to their deaths trying to take back the city.

Using your commander to capture cities sounds like a pretty inefficient use of your turn imo since normal units have to spend more actions sieging a city down. You will never face Burebista, or any general, in a 1v1. Either he comes at you with a group of units or you fight him with a group of units.

Thats why im saving medals for Huo, Crassus and Mithridates VI. Where can I earn medals easily?

Good counter for archers since he has intercept and hide (archers can be annoying bcs they hurt)
You also have to attack archers bcs archers dont get counterattacked
But when Burebista is facing infantry or cavalry he'll perform like a bronze general

Criminally underrated. He gets passed over for other gens because he is seen as "too specialized", rather like my darling Scipio. He has 4 great skills, the third (formerly second) best talent in the game, and is far and away the best gen for dealing with around 7/24 of the enemy units. Against the others, he has 2 great skills and a talent. MF and Roar are both amazing skills. I put MF slightly above JF, purely because, while not as common on average maps, there are more maps chock full of mountains than those of jungles. Roar is a great skill, particularly for one that can dispatch one such unit with such efficiency. Another important note: he has very economically viable skills, in three ways - one, you get scrolls for those skills often, two, he shares no skills with Pompey, meaning that the scrolls you get are all his, and three, all but one of his skills cost 15 medals, with the exception of Roar, which is I believe 25 medals.
