Not sure it’s easier than Odryssian Kingdom. I did them very easily but trying a range of tactics from ultra-defensive (keeping two cities and trying to develop technology to make up for poor income streams) to ultra-aggressive (taking Tarsatica, Aquileia), getting allies in as quickly as possible (the Odryssians seem essential), I’ve lost four starting generals and am down to one city within 15 rounds. I’ve had 10 tries now. Any advice welcome.

Tarsatica, Aquiliea, Ravenna.
Commander and Vercingatorix on the available infantry, Pacorus on the cavalry. I think I’m missing some strategy. Techs upgraded in usual order, strategies used as and when. I might try to take Ravenna first?

Techs upgraded in usual order, strategies used as and when. I might try to take Ravenna first? Just go straight to Rome. Some simple maneuvering like going for the cities below Rome using your free cavalry commander and infantry to capture cities below Rome, then send them towards Cyrene kingdom. Just use Pacorus and Vercingatorix to take cities until florentia. Use cities spawn units and place your generals there. Playing defensive is not an option

Fortune favours the brave? Chaaaarge! I’ll give a full update on this strategy. Cheers.

rsgiron, yup, fortune favors the bold . Do note that Rome may spawn an infantry Gen on Florentia when you damage it, which is good. That means you can blast Rome easily. Use all your economy on training units, and only save a bit to bribe scordosci.

Deleted, yep, that makes it way easier. Didn't bother defending the starter cities - Rome is an economic powerhouse. Then split forces in two - one went north turning to east the other went south to to Egypt. Cheers for that :-)

Hi - first post here. Not sure if strategies still work. Sent 3 horse, 2 horse with Pecorus, and two light infantry (starting units) against Rome immediately. Roman general unit spawned in Rome. All units dead. Any current advice? Storm, Seger, rsgiron, Deleted, anyone?

Did they attract the attention of surrounding troops such that all armies that should've been elsewhere turned back to fight you? Did you steadily campaign again Rome or did you directly charge towards the capital?

Hi - I charged the capital... should I have gone up over the top of the Adriatic? Or perhaps hit Rome in a different way?

Hi - I charged the capital... should I have gone up over the top of the Adriatic? Or perhaps hit Rome in a different way? Overland route is the safer route. If you are blocked from landing, you're at a great disadvantage.
