Theoretically, all we need to do is to advance with the land army along the east coast of Australia. However, there will be some counter attacks from Australian land forces and navy as well as the American navy on the city south of Brisbane (and your main army is probably no longer there). That's why I decided to help the ally in the very beginning for Itagaki to join us and protect the western flank. Capturing the NW American cities helps with our poor income as there is the need to produce land units and submarines. The latter is only necessary if you decide to maximize the out put of your fleet since there is no target for them besides taking a supportive role.
It took some turns to wipe out the initial American troops. But Itagaki with more than 50% health will be of great use. The fleet takes the port next to Brisbane and then sinks Nimitz, thus stopping his annoying bombers.
The land army is united again and got an additional heavy tank from Brisbane. Fletcher attacks but he will be destroyed by the navy units and newly built submarines. The NW American cities are conquered by a few units I could spare (armored car, motorized and light infantry).
Itagaki took the hits from MacArthur and is responsible for about 25% of the damage on him, keeping my units in good shape for the last stages of the mission.
Australian counter attack: I made sure the only available target for their navy units was the super battleship giving them huge amounts of retaliation damage. The Australian land forces are met/blocked by Itagaki's tanks at the lv2 city south of Brisbane.
The cruiser and battleship make it in time to help capture the last target city in the south.
