Before i start the conquest guide, i want you to spot the joke in this picture. Answer first before peaking at the answer
The conquest says hard, but in fact it isn't
Basically, the reason why Rome gets destroyed by the Celtic tribes is because although they are separate 1 star nations, they work like a united Gaulish empire hellbent on beating Rome, which would eventually happen in history, but during this time period it won't happen. So united they stand, divided they fall. And all you need to win is to defeat them one by one in detail. I repeated the conquest 3 times to see how to bribe allies, neutrals and enemies. So here it is:
Bribe Numidia kingdom, Egypt, Aediu, Volcae, Massalia and the Dacian kingdom once ( i forgot to take a screenshot of Massalia). Declare war on Nasamones turn one. I used 2 generals for this conquest: Antony and Crassus. Antony because mobility and Crassus for city wrecking and also mobility. Just position your units so they are ready to attack Vesontio turn 2.
Turn 2: Bribe Dacia again. DO THIS FIRST BEFORE CAPTURING A CITY, since doing it after means the cost of bribing increases, thus you won't be able to bribe them. You can also bribe egypt, that works too. Crassus makes taking Vesontio easy.
Turn 3: Your free cavalry gen and Crassus should be sent to Lutetia, while Antony and the archer goes towards Tolosa. Protect Vesontio using light infantry, but it doesn't matter much if the enemy retakes it, since that's one less city to deal with, and your goal is to defeat the enemies and cause a rift between them so Rome can focus on the east(just make sure it isn't Arverni that capture it) .
Helvetii, Arverni should have fallen by turn 6 above. Volcae should fall around turn 10. Crassus should go deal with Namnetes along with an army of light infantry, while you send Antony to either :help Crassus, Help the Romans beat Suebi and Dacia, go to Nasamones, or go beat up Cantabri then join up with Crassus towards Briton.
* Also do remember that your Egyptians allies should capture Salamis. If for some reason they ignore it, restart. Unless you want prolonging the conquest, then go ahead and continue. Just donate your money to Rome Pompey and Egypt after you deal with all the Celtic tribes.
Another thing, if the pirates demand bribes first, refuse, then accept if the goat tribe asks for bribes. If the goat tribe asks first, then accept their bribe. This is so the goat tribe would be the one who primarily asks for bribes, which you should give always, unless you can't afford it. This is so they enter the war earlier and would be able to deal with the Pontus kingdom, or distract it. Only send your allies economic fund only after you beat most or all of the Celtic alliance.
stoic , hope this helps you.
