The key strategy is to make a breakout throughout the centre region. That means, we ignore the Luisitanian cities to the south and avoid just using the sole northern city as a springboard. Once you reach one of the central-eastern cities fast enough, a dialogue will appear and maybe demoralise Sertorius' forces. At the same time Flauron will still be held be Pompey's forces' remnants.

Nvm, after getting Crassus (and learning how to forced march), it went much better. Any advice for my next gen? I have Crassus, Pacorus, and Infantry Commander.

Mithridates if you can hold out or Drusus. I'm thinking Cleo. Better than Drusus purely because of Archer Commander, and 3rd best archer. All for 398. BTW, First I bought the Laurel Crown and I think that will be the only Item.

Building 2× lvl 2 workshops at the starting bases will fulfil your iron needs. Manage your population well to reach better economic states over time. The starting military camp with a stables is useless. Demolish it and build either a workshop or marketplace. There is a military camp with an archery to the central north base. Use it to spam 2× slingers to deal with Sertorius.
