I'm going to keep this guide quite simple. I found that Egypt to be a very easy nation to win the conquest.
The generals I used were Huo, Yrebonious and the default with 8 on archer. The only one of these I found significant was huo , though this is possible with no generals.
Firstly I sent all of my troops west towards the nearest enemy city. I bought the philosopher than the imperial guard to increase population. After these I didn't find specific skills particularly important.
I found with the soldiers I had that my only continental enemy was easy to defeat as they do not protect city's very well. I spent my money upgrading city's, then paying for both of my allies to come into the game. The western African nation will assist near by allies in winning the was in the Hispania peninsular. Enemies there will eventually be defeated by the shear number of allied troops. This army will go on to conquer all of gallia without any assistance, then March east until the end of the conquest.
I built a small army at Alexandria of a 5 legion chariot with huo, two marksmen with my other two generals and another chariot with two legions. This was a mistake. I sent these soldiers to capture Cyprus then invade the Turkey area (which was completely took over my this point). I did not predict the large amount of enemies awaiting me. I took over Cyprus easily but the was spammed. I managed to defend alright but lost everything apart from huo. Huo was actually very important for me as he took over city's quickly, with the help of forced March. So I would definitely recommend a much larger invading force. It took me a while to take over the whole of the Turkey area because i lost a couple of city's but just spam units and you will be fine.
With what you have in Africa after defeating the enemy I sent my troops to Greece which was still held by allies. There was lots of fighting where the original borders were but nothing was much happening. I think I captured a city and lost it and my troops but that didn't really matter., but you may want to prepare better.
As for diplomacy, I donated money to my allies in the Balkan area and Greece. I also donated to the two allies in northern Europe so they could defend, everything went of them got took over eventually anyways. I did not pay the nation in the north east enough early on so they joined the war against me, though this wasn't a problem. A few of their troops arrived in Turkey but became neutral pretty quickly. I paid the pirates so they would not join.
After gaining control of Turkey send an army to the Crimea area and one through the Balkans. Capturing city's should be easy at this point and shortly after the conquest will end.
