Shoutouts to steelixir and tristanknight for being trailblazers... pathfinders? Anyway they did this one before I did.
Minimum requirements:
- 1 close to max tank general (Guderian quality)
- 1 medium-maxed tank general (Rommel quality)
- 1 rental tank general (at least Messe quality, I used Graziani)
- 1 naval general (probably at least Kuznetsov quality but I used Donitz)
- 1 infantry general (just to add damage, I used Konev)
- Close to max tech for tanks/artillery, 75% for infantry/air/navy
- 1 artillery general (Leeb in my case)
Optional:
- Max everything lol
- 1 extra naval general (Nimitz in my case)
OK let's get started. You get a measly $61 per turn, a useless level 1 city, and a level 3 city that spawns medium tanks.
Turn 1: (before spawning anything) Put an infantry general on the assault infantry and send it and the light infantry to the USSR so you can steal a city or two, plus the Soviet and Turkish ports. Put your third tank general on the armoured car with the other infantry and move them to Peking. Don't buy anything on turn 1.
Turns 2-5: Konev + gang are moving to the west. Once Okamura and Hata (or whoever the art general is) are dead, spawn a medium tank (end of turn 2), put yourtop tank general on it (edit: second tank general, not first like I did) and go and capture either Changchun or Shenyang, but DO NOT SPLIT YOUR FORCES.
Once you do that, steal the USSR city that they always lose to Yamashita*. At the end of turn 5 spawn a light tank and put yoursecond top tank general on it so you can send them to the west as well.
Other than the two tanks don't spawn anything else besides paratroopers to steal cities and a maximum of one light infantry every round so you can defend cities.
* If you take Changchun before the Soviet city falls, Yamashita will come for you and spare them. If not then parasnipe it.
Turns 6-10: Once the initial Japanese wave is dead, move your troops to Pyongyang and Seoul, where they will spend the next 20 turns thinning out the Japanese navy and howitzers that they always build in Seoul. Parasnipe Shanghai and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (and Hong Kong if Thailand takes it), but don't bother with any ports for now. Once you capture Shanghai, don't spawn anything in the east besides light infantries (and armoured cars every 2 rounds or so in Shanghai) to defend your cities until the US arrives.
In the west: Have Konev steal the USSR port, and spawn a single sub (and put your best navy general on it) ASAP, so he can steal the Turkish port. Have him stay in the Black Sea for now so no one steals the port. Once you do that, defeat some trash Balkan troops that are trying to take Donetsk. If you can kill 2-3 howitzers and a couple of generals the USSR will never lose their west. After your S+ tier tank general arrives capture any empty Polish city (or former Polish city). In my first attempt I took Krakow. Once you do that, kill off Poland before Germany does, and defend those cities with light infantries for a while.
IMPORTANT: Do not spawn any tanks or artillery (besides the occasional armoured car) until at least turn 15. Your economy won't be able to handle it.
Turn 10-20 (the meat grinder): Once you take Seoul, spawn a howitzer in the west and put an artillery general on it so you can thin out the German crowd. Ignore the Balkans for now so you can concentrate on northern Europe (not Finland for now). Parasnipe German and Soviet cities, especially Leningrad, and start restoring Poland. Keep defending the east and don't spawn anything until the US arrives. Once they do, let them grind down Tokyo and parasnipe it. Japan's done (basically). Now you can focus on the west.
Turns 20-30: Now that your economy's almost $1000 per turn, parasnipe empty cities and keep destroying northern Europe so that Germany doesn't take the UK, then they can help you take the Low Countries. Once you have Poland cleared out, surround and rumour out Berlin. Once Berlin is taken, Germany's basically done, so sweep to the west and south. You can start to work on the Balkans now, but don't go for Italy just yet (well of course I did with Rommel) unless you're confident you can deal with all fronts. Keep Donitz near the Black Sea so you can keep destroying the Balkan water spam.
Once your income permits, spawn a single cruiser in the USSR port and put your second navy general on it (general optional) so you can ease out the pain of attacking Sofia and Athens.
Italy's gonna finish off Egypt around now and they're gonna try to steal your ports from the east. Keep a sub or something there.
Also, try to take Marseilles if your economy permits and spawn a medium tank every turn. Take the port as well, as that will speed up your conquest by 10-15 turns.
Turns 30-40: Take Paris, use that to take Lyon, and use Lyon to take Egypt. Travel down Italy and take Rome. Everything else is straightforward.
Ahh... victory.
Again, this one was not easy. Don't try it unless you want to rage, until you complete Cold War at least.
