Here, I create a rough guide for USA 1950 era. Sorry that I can cannot be very detail because of my other matter to do.
-This neither specificly requires a certain level of HQ upgrade nor good general. But since it relies on nukes and paratroopers so some upgrades in airforce will be handy.
-Basic plan is to build nuke whenever your resources allow.
-In this guide, I explain the detail on front at a time so it is not in a chronological order. That is, you can start sending troop to France whenever you feel ready, does not have to wait till you are done with the Asia front.
-Playing as USA, you have 2 fronts to fight; Europe and Asia. Europe can be easier because you can safely land your troops on your allies land. Therefore, I suggest you focus on Asia front because if you do not make your beachhead early on, it will be very difficult.
The very first thing to do as the US whether in 1950 or 1960 is to take care of Cuba. Cuba can be very annoying, especially when they spam you paratrooper. So the plan is to send 2-3 infantries from Florida to the grids next to Havana. No need to attack, ignore all Cuban troops in order to preserve health. On the next turn, nuke the city can capture it with those infantries. Done.
While you are taking care of Cuba send most of your Pacific troops to Philippines and concentrate your attack at Shanghai. You can take it by force. But to preserve your strength, I suggest you sending some troop next to Shanghai, nuke it on the next turn and capture it with the troops.
If you find taking Shanghai too difficult, you can change your target to Hongkong instead. From Hongkong, you can build more troops and take Shanghai from land (with nuke support from Manila, of course).
But also spare some troops to Japan. Those troops in Japan are not to fight but only to stand by for the moment that Japanese cities fall into China's hand, you can retake them back for your own.
Thailand will likely be taken by Australia or UK. But if you want Bangkok, you can send a paratroop from Manila to Vietnam. Nuke Bangkok with missile from Manila then take the city with that paratrooper.
Once you have Shanghai, brace yourself and build some defense a bit before continue your offensive. Your next move is to neutralized Chinese air capability. Nukes+paradrops major cities with airfield such as Peking, Chongqing, and Seoul (likely been taken by the Chinese). If you have enough nukes and gold, you can make a nuke+paradrop spree by nuke+paradrop Peking from Shanghai -> nuke+paradrop Changchun from Peking -> nuke+paradrop Khabarovsk from Changchun. This require 3-4 nukes and few thousand gold but I suggest you doing this because it gives China no opportunity to take any city back (if you take one city at a time, let's say Peking, the city will be vulnerable to nuke from Changchun, for example).
Now the rest of China is only for you to reap. You have two more things to do here. 1) prepare troops to attack the Middle East. 2) Attack USSR from the east. By now, USSR is likely steamrolling Europe. One good thing is that it has very few troops to defend an attack from Asia.
On the European front, you can send from troops to France. You goal here is not to kick USSR's butt but to help the French defending their nation. So you need to set up a line of defense a bit to the east of Paris (depending on how far away the USSR army is). Be careful that you cannot get reinforcement easily here so you need to build some forts. If you want to take some cities, you can attack Munich, Milan, or Zurich. The generals there are on rocket artillery so they cannot fight back.
Now, to defeat the USSR, you have 2 options. 1) Attack it from the west (follow red arrows) or 2) attack from the east (blue line) with your troops from China. I recommend the latter because there will be much less resistance. It will be more difficult to attack from the west but if you wanna do that then go for smaller foe like Hungary or Bulgaria first. Then run behind the USSR army to on the Kiev - Minsk - Riga route.
At this point, the rest is just mopping up.
