So I have speccโd Sophia into Calvary, getting her up to 5 cav stars. She has the calvary pistol. She is thus an incredibly strong general that can rival Murat, in my experience. I recently unlocked Isabela, and have given her the artillery coat and potent gunpowder items. Isabela is such a powerhouse as well, her movement is just incredible. Further, I have Graham (expensive artillery trainer) available in my shop.
Thus, my question is, should I train Sophia to have another artillery star, or should I give that star to Isabela? My position is this: I already have a dieseled Sophia, so the training should go to Isabella, but I am not sure. Sophiaโs skills are really good for artillery, so perhaps the extra star would benefit her?

You have already Isabella - Great! She will be your first artillery commander untill the end, so now artillery trainer should be first for her, but graham is too expensive! . Kutaisov for 430๐๏ธ is even more usefull as long he sits on the last slot.

I thought I probably made a mistake training Sophia for Cav twice, but I just have too many experiences where sheโs totally saved campaign missions. Her damage output is insane! Iโm also okay with waiting a long time with medals. The grinding/watching ads is fine for me.

Explosives make Sophia a little more powerful on artillery but Cavalry are stronger so not a problem. Just remember to target cities and forts.

I just had her do 140 damage at less than half health to a fortress in the Invasion of Britain mission, no morale boost either. Such a powerful general. She's made quick work of missions like Battle of Lutzen, Battle of the Nations (HRE campaign) and others. She also saved my 4 star completion of the Coalition Disruption mission (Can you tell why my username is "sophia simp" yet? ). I have to mention Kate as well, who delivers the most consistent damage for any 2 star arty general out there. Kate will drop 30-40 damage regularly, even when she has taken significant damage herself.

Do you have snair drums? Before your commander goes down 50% you should equip them. They work on every unit.
Sophia is the fort cracker. Spy gives +50% against forts, and on guards or siege this factors up to a 2.25x multiplyer for all dmg against forts.

CALVARY is the place where Christ died on the cross. That being said, the mental image of a "Calvary Pistol" sits neatly along side Constantine's shotgun crucifix and Supernatural's enchanted revolver (made by Sam Colt himself and loaded with holy ammunition).

Right XD. That is a cool idea, and thank u for the correction.

She has crazy output, even damaged, w/o snair drum!
