This post is to be dedicated to discussing how to get Gold for Doom Warfare. In fact, has anyone managed to do so? I finally completed it, and I only got the bronze medal with an average of 50-60% completed on each mission. Though I am not sure of the exact average % threshold, to get ~90% one would need high damage and rumor for defense. For damage, I am in fact keeping explosives rather than rumor on my non-Guderian tank generals for damage on fortresses. But this necessitates buying more generals (I’m thinking 12+ are needed) so rumor can be held. In addition, for the five non-naval missions, at least one tank general is needed per mission. Excluding Manstein (who does not even have explosives, though plain fighting helps to get damage on generals), only 3 tank generals can AA+PL+explosives, so to get a fifth tank I need to probably buy the new Terrorist/Purple general, though he is more similar to Manstein than Guderian. Since the new Terrorist/Purple artillery general can act like a tank general, maxing his stats could serve as a substitute here, especially since he has explosives. Please share your thoughts; despite the annoying grind for both ribbons and the medals to get enough generals, this is quite a new, fun challenge for me in WC4 that I seek to pursue. Plus an extra AA medal helps medal-switching in speedruns easier

I'm new here, but I've been playing the game for a while. And I must confess that I came here on the forum to ask for help precisely about this new Warzone mode. I know some people who managed to collect even the third Doom Medal, but they are all p2w, as a f2p I was also able to collect only the first Doom Medal. Recently I've been saving my game, selling some generals and buying new ones just to test combinations of new generals in each mission, then load my old game back. It is possible to get good scores. My plan is to get 5 tank generals (Guderian, Rommel, Roko, Valutin and maybe Messe*), 4 artillery generals (Konev, Leeb, Govorov and maybe Terauchi*), 3 infantry generals (Rundstedt, Tito and Crerar) Tito and Crerar's function is only to be able to use the infantry ribbons, the Great Soldier medal and the Imperial Eagle, with these changes they become extremely useful for their price, 2 naval generals (Nimitz and Donitz) and 1 air general ( Dowding). With the possibility to exchange ribbons/medals between generals before starting the mission, the objective is indeed to get as much as possible for the tanks and artillery. The problem is the mission at sea since we can't do the exchanges during the missions, we have to share the ribbons between the naval generals and yet the mission itself is quite difficult. Unfortunately the grind is very tiring and repetitive, the idea of saving the game before the last mission to try to go back and try again to get better ribbons is good but it only makes it more tiring. Besides, two important details are that sabotaging yourself in mines will give you some points and the main thing is that when setting fire to units/fortresses the damage caused by fire will not count points and in some missions this has made an absurd difference (+100 points), I'll try to communicate this to ET so they can change it.

Plus an extra AA medal helps medal-switching in speedruns easier Same here, only got bronze on doom with 6200 something (just a little update on Vatutin to succed the silver medal) I had 14 non IAP gens, and yes you're right, 5 or 6 tank gens are needed to beat this level casually. Too bad there's no 5th tank gen that can have explosive without sacrificing AA and Panzer Leader. For me i choose Monty over Graziani/Patton as my 4th and Vatutin as my 5th tank gen. Or, if you need explosive that bad you can still try on McArthur as 2nd inf. gen. Mech. Infantry also has good bonus on stronghold Once, i put 5 of my best gen on tank-mission, and the percentage was only 86% with 1260 for the score.

Not managed (yet ) but I haven't given up trying either. Here's the results of my latest venture into the doom warzone. Like antoniopires , I distributed my accumulated medals to see how far I can get with certain generals and skill. You can use the screenshots for reference and optimization as well as criticism
inf mission: Yama, Rund, Monty: either they suck or I at using them, no third inf general for me. Monty couldn't handle everything alone.
arty: konev and grazi: decent-ish but this needs improvement and I only had lv2 skills on grazi who did surprisingly well.
air: rommel, govo, dowding: room for improvement
tank: roko, arnold and patton. next time no more arnold
navy: nimitz and donitz. I tried once with addition of arnold on carrier and got 10 more points. A better strategy is worth more but I feel there's a ceiling (1100-1200) without excellence medal.
finale: guderian, leeb. Next time I'll put arnold here too since we get 5 nukes and lots of resources for missiles and air strikes.
7700 is still far away

With un-maxed Vatutin and one more slot for arty gen, 7700 seems possible, 10.000 more medals to grind though 🥲

If you have tank and arti silver medals. I think it's possible to get 3*. Using counter attack to boost your pts and get recover from medals and green ribbons. Never put weak units within attack range of enemy, AI will attack them and you get nothing. I'm farming at doom now, using 2 gens for each stage except naval (I use 5 gens there), rarely use strike or atom bombs. Best combo for doom is %damage, crit, %counter damage and explosive. Rumour and % avoid counter don't work well here

Is farming them an alternative to accumulating tons of medals in order to changing/leveling up skills?

Awesome! How did you do it in terms of strategy and general distribution? Tank: Rommel + Konev + Dowding Air: Vatutin + McArthur Arty: Roko + Leeb Inf.: Monty + Rund Navy: Donitz + Nimitz Final: Guderian + Yama + Arnold My strategy was simple since i dont exactly know how the points are counted. Just kill as many units as possible especially with tank Gen. Units with no gen only attack enemy infantry, fortress, or rumored units. Just that. And i always put tank gen as near as possible with enemy crowd, to get the counterattack point. Maybe someone can do the research how many points for attacking/killing enemy unit, generals, and fortress.

Pro tip: Step on enemy mines cause they give points. Capturing cities despawns them and prevents you from getting those points

Just got back from an 8 week sabbatical and saw this warzone. What else is new and can anyone orient me as to anything else and how it all works? Much appreciated 👍 Warzone gives you 4-6 levels (4,5,5,5,6) to deal as much damage points as you can, which earn you a various amount of ribbons depending on your score. The first time you get 1,2, or 3 stars you also get a bonus medal. Generals can only be used in one of the levels, but I think you can use as many generals in total as you want.
