Well, personally, I would like them to add this guy as recruitable, what does it matter if they add him as simply as it appears here Nah, ET has already added too much German, US and Soviet generals to the game, give Italy, France some love, such as: Corso Pecori Giraldi - Italian naval gen Weygand - French army defensive gen André Lemonnier/Philippe Auboyneau - French naval gen Eraldo Ilari/Rino Corso Fougier - Italian airforce gen (infantry/airforce for Fougier) Alfredo Guzzoni/Ettore Bastico - Italian infantry gen (infantry/desert gen for Bastico) Alphonse Juin - French infantry/mountain gen Gabriel Bougrain - French tank gen René Olry - French artillery/mountain gen I had faith hahaha, now the question will be whether it will be expensive but powerful or reasonable and reasonable

Preview number 3: New generals!
resiphius, looks like one of your requests was fulfilled, Bastico will be added Quite surprised about that, because when talking about Axis African front Rommel always overshadows Bastico by a very large extend.

Well, I say that it would be interesting to vary a little if they put it in the form of taking 4 or 5 quite high skills, without stars with the option of improving up to 3 or 4 stars, a very schizophrenic example would be let's say that it starts with machinist, inspiration, aim , armored assault and coverage at levels 4 or 3, and with 0 or 1 stars in tank and artillery with the possibility of going up to 4 stars

NEW GENERALS
Purple for endgame-level general like Rommel, Donitz, etc. Green for good support\ a bit worse than endgame generals Yellow as not terrible if you have it but not the best for endgame Red as terrible and a complete waste of medal $ for IAP
Arnim($): 5/6 panzer, 3/4 mobility, Lvl 3 Panzer Leader, Lvl 3 Blitzkrieg, Lvl 4 Desert Fighting, one free slot (Recommended: Armored Assault). For around 1 US dollar you have a Rommel-lite that already has some upgrades in panzer skills. Bastico: 4/6 panzer, 2/4 mobility, Lvl 3 Retaliation (+18 attack for two turns when friendly troop die within 1 grid), Lvl 3 Armored Assault, Lvl 2 Panzer Leader, one free slot (Blitzkrieg). If you don't have List, Bastico might be a cheaper option for you, but the lack of Explosives might force you to change tactics. Pavlov: Juliusz's copy, except a bit better (Pavlov costs nothing but achievements and already has Lvl 3 Armored Assault). So in short, a free Juliusz. Simonds: 3/5 panzer, 2/3 mobility, Lvl 2 Panzer Leader, Lvl 3 Machinist, Lvl 2 Ace Forces. Graziani-lite, but Graziani is already severely outclassed. Leslie: 4/5 panzer, 2/3 mobility, Lvl 2 Fortification (-6% dmg received when on armored troops), Lvl 2 Panzer Leader, Lvl 2 Desert Fighting. Nope, too weak obviously. Chennault: 5/6 air force, 3/5 mobility, Lvl 4 Inspection (attacked unit has -80% counterattack rate, kind of like Blitz or Raider), Lvl 4 Air Force Leader, Lvl 4 Economic Expert, two free slots (maybe Carpet Bombing, Industrial Expert, or Technology Expert). Stand aside Arnold! There is a new contender! Darlan: 6 navy, 3/5 mobility, Lvl 4 Leadership (ship unit never falls to chaos, +16 dmg for the unit in command and other friendly units within 1 grid), Lvl 4 Fleet Leader, Lvl 4 Depot Ship, one free slot (Recommended: Rumor or Explosives). He made me regret investing on Horton. He has 6 stars! That is 3 more than Horton! Also he is a Colonel already. He has Leadership which is a better substitute to Wolfpack. He could be great for fleet auto-invasions. Yamaguchi: 5/6 air force, 5 navy, 3/4 mobility, Lvl 2 Naval Assault (+16% dmg when commanding ship, +5% of MAX HP once per turn), Lvl 2 Early Warning, Lvl 2 Air Force, two free slots (Recommended: Fleet Leader, and either Explosives or Rumor). Good attack and defense skills, outclasses not only Nimitz but also Yamamoto. Mikawa: 5 navy, 3/5 mobility, Lvl 2 Night Raid (24% chance of no counterattack when on ship), Lvl 3 Fleet Leader, Lvl 3 Wolfpack, one free slot (Recommended: Rumor or Explosives). This is the first time I see an admiral with a defensive skill like Night Raider. His price and skills alone already outclass Nimitz. Higuchi: 5 infantry, 4/5 mobility, Lvl 2 Counter (enemy receives 10% of the damage they dealt, provided that no anti-counterattack skill triggered), Lvl 3 Infantry Leader, Lvl 2 Raider, one free slot (Recommended: Explosives). A cheap McArthur! Sign me up!

Anyway, I agree on your review, maybe I'd give all of them a slightly worse vote than what you gave them, because even the best among them have some flaws (except Chennault). The really OP generals will be Sokolovsky and Abrams, when they will be added as IAPs.

jonblend (or anyone else who can answer), what are the crit attack chance and crit attack damage on a normal general (with no skills or ribbons that boost them)? I am trying to understand what skill is better among armored assault, panzer leader and inspiration for tank generals that lack them. My impression is that armored assault is the best, followed by inspiration and then p. leader.

My impression is that armored assault is the best, followed by inspiration and then p. leader. Basic crit chance is 0 and basic crit multiplier is 1.5 (but it only applies to unit atk). Leader skills might seem weak but they enable the red ribbons' additional crit multiplier to be triggered (more or less) consistently.
For ranking the skills on specific generals and situations, you have to take ribbons and units plus their level into account.
With lv5 ribbons, there are some cases where leader offers the highest damage boost, but usually I'd say AA > PL > Inspiration.
And it never hurts to implement the formula link in some excel like program and play around with the numbers

My impression is that armored assault is the best, followed by inspiration and then p. leader. AA is by far the best. Leader needs AA to be useful, but is then the second most important skill. Inspiration is ok, but not great, on tanks. For most modes explosives is far superior. An underrated ability of explosives, now that we have the green health-regenerating ribbons, is that tanks can one-shot most fortifications near them and easily regain health. They basically become bottom-tier infantry that are free for your tanks.

Yeah, it was a stupid question after all, I was comparing the skills by themselves, but obviously a general would have the red ribbons equipped, so the leader skills become way better than inspiration. What do you think of the challenge conquest? It seems some enemy generals are quite tough. Rumor is still very useful.

Rumor is definitely more useful than before, but the AI seems to not target units outside of cities. That is, Manstein in ‘39, for instance, seems to only attack units in cities. Thus you can sort of keep cheap units every round and go around him, taking all the cities he’s not defending.

Is it just me or does inspiration seem needless on Gens. Like Guderian and Manstein? Mine mostly one shot kill and attack several times per round, boosting their morale and ranking them up to max in just a few rounds, nullifying need for inspiration, Aces, etc. I don't understand all the hype about inspiration. Explain what Im misunderstanding, if anything.

I'm still doing this week's event missions hoping to collect a few fragments that allow me to unlock King Tiger and get T44 to lv6. Once that's done I'll start with an all allies & all cities run to get a feel for the speed runs (and List who I finally upgraded). Thanks to journeykeen 's report I'm confident it can be done even with an evasive strategy. And it looks like replacing rumor will be postponed again

Explain what Im misunderstanding, if anything. Back when elite forces, inspiration and weekly events were introduced, Guderian could not one-shot triple rocket artillery or super rocket/artillery in hard events. Instead of using one fighter air strike on each of these units before being able to line up kills, some players favored Inspiration which provided just enough dmg boost for this problem. Now, with higher levels of elite forces or the lv5 ability of the M26, it’s no longer this little extra damage (regardless of terrain) for tipping the scales.
