From the random thread: The Guru ranking system is a pilot project that was launched specifically for the newer Glory of Generals 2 ~ ACE board.It is meant to showcase members ACE game knowledge contributions to our forum.It is still in the process of being fine tuned and reworked but if it is liked by the majority of the membership we could make make it permanent and expand it to all boards not just the ACE board. Here is how it looks like (Jean-Luc for example)  and below is the description of that feature:
Description : This plugin allows a user to create a thread and then 'accept' by pressing a button on that post. That post will then have a banner saying it is the 'Accepted Post' and a copy of the post will be included in the threads first post. The accepted answer can be rejected at any time in case a better answer is posted. User can up-vote an answer by liking the post. The author of the post will have their 'Guru' total increased by 1. If a post is selected as the 'Accepted Answer' , the authors 'Guru' total will be increased by 10. If a user has guru points, their guru profile will appear below their posts. When a post has been accepted, that thread will have a [Solved] in the title on that boards thread list.

It should be added to WC3 and EW4. No wonder I have only rank 2, I never open the Ace folder.

And if great posts in the ace folder would be properly liked/upvoted/solved by thread cretera I would be uber-guru  Dunno if it is really working in this way, but such a ranking system would help newers members to see which info could be more vailuble or notzz |

The Light Bringer that's ok,my ranking is also extremely low ,we will just have to excell in other ways Philip II of Macedon did you mean space in the gfx statement ranking or did you mean we should have more ratings space between ranks (ie slower to level stars) Singlemalt you wrote:"And if great posts in the ace folder would be properly liked/upvoted/solved by thread cretera I would be uber-guru" Can you expand on that? His general advices are fantastic saltin, it wasin the context of post before.. People say the reason they had not much guru stars since the gog2:ace threads were not their place..... I made a "joking" remark on this since 80-90% of the intell at ACE is post by me that my guru stars would be much more if the guys asking for guids would accept my answers/guides. Ofc people can decide whether they use it or not.. Only thing is I wanted to make clear with this joking remark that using this strategy the guru ranking wont say anything about your contribution but more on the people who will use tools or not |
