Part of the Eastern Overlord campaign. The French are so strong with all the generals I need to kill. My money is low and the fire attack has an underwhelmingly pathetic impact. Any help? My generals are Sophia, Kate, Fatimah, and Picton.

Yes, the fire is indeed pathetic. I basically consider it as a decoration. Anyway, I went back to play the mission and this is my strategy.
- Just surrender Moscow to the French. - Concentrate your defend at Tver and Ryazan (north and south of Moscow) - Davout will just sitting in Moscow so you can just ignore him. - Napoleon will just stay near Moscow and you can ignore him for now. - At Tver, Lefebvre will come together with Murat that make defending this front more difficult but you can utilize the fort and attack them with artillery (from the industry next to Tver). - Defending Ryazan in the south is a bit easier because Gouvion, Ney, and Berthier will come one at a time so you can focus kill one by one. - You can ignore other French units if they are not making trouble so you can save your troops for attacking generals. - Once you kill Lefebvre and Murat at Tver and Gouvion, Ney, and Berthier at Ryazan you can make a pincer attack Napoleon. - Napoleon will probably just sit bunker so artillery wont work well against him. He will just destroy them all. So use either infantries or cavalries to surround him and gradually rip him off.
I used 4 of my weaker generals; Maria (on infantry), Kate (on artillery), Sakurako (on artillery), and Fatimah (on cavalry) so this plan should work fine without the need of strong generals.

Thanks for the help. I beat this mission with 2 stars but I beat it nonetheless. A win is a win! Some of these missions are very hard to get more than the minimum 2 stars. I usually just pass them with minumum rating than go back later on and do them again for higher rating.

Plus, if you won all the missions with 5 stars then you would have nothing to do when you finish the last campaign.

As recommended, I ditched Moscow and defended the cities north and south of Moscow. It was a crazy fight and I had to use a medi kit in the northern city especially when the armoured car came to the fight. The key to victory is to surround and arty.
Thanks to OP, I got five stars at turn 10.

The unexpected happened to me. Nearly every general came North, except Ney, Gouvlon, Oudinot, and Davout. Even Napoleon invaded within the first turn. The only thing that helped me win, was my three artillery generals I have and snare drum. I got 4 stars.

I used stars for the first time to upgrade infantry to guards, built a triple guard in Moscow and then rallied around him. Level 7 cities give off so much cash, it's tough to give them up and win.
