From the little I remembered of this one you needed to avoid "immortal" gens and only attack with the right units

I had trouble for a few tries with keeping Lincoln alive but how I managed was sending attila, gengis and suleiman West which is where he is gonna go (at least he did the times I was playing it) and kill all the generals ASAP and leave some weak units head straight to the houses? there and take them then go in the water and kill the gen there and start heading east through the water where by now there should be some gens. Lincoln will hopefully be alive and would've been keeping busy with the small units. East at the beginning I sent Washington, li shimin and napoleon and basically just Kill the generals there as soon as possible also.

erwinrommel23, does this help? I left Saladin and Nobunaga Oda to guard the west. The rest of my army marched eastward. When you capture the Russian camp, place your best income princess and healing princess on the two income buildings. Deploy your archer discount princess on the Range and spam Machine Gunners. Slowly move west by sea. Beware of Catherine and the remaining Russians at sea! If need be, send Mocty or your fastest gen overland to defend against the British troops. Should your gens be severely weakened, retreat them. The enemy should not have the strength to force a breakthrough. Once your naval forces arrive at the British camp, eliminate them.
