A thread for anything related to helping players get past conquest.
You may post tips or you may ask questions here.
I'll start it off, is surrender condition the same as WC3's or is it using EW4's?

Update: May be gathering some data here relating to conquests.
Tip 1: Get the Technology Centre Landmark & use it early on. By soonerjbd
european-war-4.boards.net/thread/6851/technology-centre
Tip 2: Focus on 1 theatre at 1 time. You do NOT have enough resources to efficiently wage war, so you choose 1 front to focus on & the others are to be played defensively. By best75 european-war-4.boards.net/thread/6842/strategos-france-1939
Tip 3: Very agressive nature of the AI should not be matched by equal agressiveness from players, try to be MORE defensive. By kanue european-war-4.boards.net/thread/6842/strategos-france-1939
Tip 3.5: Let the enemy come to you first. Exhaust the enemy forces before unleashing a devastating counterattack. By Reichtangle Link: Page 2 of this very thread you are reading from.
Tip 4: Use your gen skills such as Rumour. By the people of this thread european-war-4.boards.net/thread/6714/rumor
Tip 5: WC4 IS NOT a nicer looking version of WC3 with more features. AI is better & old tricks from WC3 MAY NOT work as well/anymore.
By The Light Bringer Link: this very thread you are reading from.
Tip 6: Howitzers aka WC3 FA, are not gonna be your best units in WC4, try something different. By best75 Link: this very thread you are reading from.
Tip 6.5: Improve arty movement, this allows Howitzers to be useful/more useful during conquests. By best75 Link: Page 2 of this very thread you are reading from.
Tip 7: Try to send resources to Allies to keep them alive. By Singlemalt Link: Page 2 of this very thread you are reading from.
Tip 8: Upgrade key cities/strategic cities to have/improve features like air defenses & air fields. By Singlemalt Link: Page 2 of this very thread you are reading from.
Tip 9: Lure the enemy out to be more effective in destorying the abandoned city. (Example also provided in his post) By bagramyan Link: Page 3 of this very thread you are reading from.
Tip 10: When playing as an Allied nation in 1943, rush towards Cologne, Germany to secure the missile silo there xto unleash the devastating missiles on the Axis. By bagramyan Link: Page 3.of this very thread you are reading from.
Tip 11: Reckless attacks without the necessary support can at BEST slow down progress greatly or at WORST result in an AI rout & counterattack against your forces. By me
(Not gonna create a new post for this)
Tip 12: Use of cruiser-sub combo is recommneded in naval invasions. By the members who posted here: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/7232/naval-deployment-invasions
Tip 13: For final Pacific Allied Campaign, try not to take Tokyo ESPECIALLY when playing it on Hard Mode as the Soviets switch sides due to this. By bagramyan and the members in this thread: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/6681/pacific-war-last-mission-tips
Tip 14: It's HIGHLY recommended that you get a good gen (eg. Leeb or Messe if you don't feel like gwtting an end-game gen) ASAP to clear daily invasions & farm rewards. Past certain HQ lvl (~HQ lvl 17) & 1 gen is not enough to do daily events (Tasks & Invasions) By me Link: (I believe it's the Road to a Successful WC4 thread, not entirely sure about it)
Tip 15: Sometimes, it just your strategy & tactics that impede progress. (Only applicable in Scenarios) Take a step back & consider another way to beat the Scenario... or look at 1 of the guides this forum has to offer. By me (Not gonna make a new post for this)
Tip 16: AI loves to target enemies with the least HP. Place an inf unit (eg. Light inf or Assault inf) in front of your arty to lure AI away from attacking your arty. By best75 on Page 3 of this thread.
Tip 17: Countries that MUST be the MOST aggressive nations SHOULD be left up to the AI to control if you want AI to be optimised for usefullness. (Eg. Letting AI control Nazi Germany 1939 allows it to spawn in a lot of gens & it also has more success carrying out Blitzkreig than players with low tech lvls)
By the members who ractified this concept.
Tip 18: Attacking neutrals is good (extra resources, higher score in the end)... but it's best that you do so when you do it with excess troops not NEEDED to win the main war/troops than are not able to easily rejoin the main war. By members in the forum, expanded on by me.
Tip 19: Neutrals which you waged war on WILL NOT attack you but WILL counterattack your attacks if your troops are in range. Their defeat is also NOT needed to win your conquest. However, if they have an airport, they WILL attack you/your bases in range (if any) by air. Tl:dr, wage war on neutrals with no airports & use offenses/troops that outrange neutrals to minimise casualties.
Tip 20: Work with your allies, unless they are gonna get you killed with nothing to gain. By members in the NATO 6 Hard guide thread who suggested doing this.
