Hello here is the guide for mission 3 of Modern war I will only cover the first 3 turns as well as the last few turns. This guide is done considering you have maxed or nearly maxed technology for your main units (Air force max range and assault (tanks) 100% is mandatory) (Rocket Artillery lvl 2 -100% no retatliation is highly recommended) General used Manstein
All skills maxed (Panzer leader/ Plain Fighting/ Armored assault medal) Konev
initual skills maxed (Artillery and accuracy medal) (Raider is level 1) Rumor 5 Plain Fighting 5 (yes i know it should be explosives-- i dont have medals to change it) Guderian
initual skills maxed (Blitzkreig medal) Plain Fighting 5 Explosives 5 Yamashitainitial skills maxed (Ace Forces, Raider medal) Guerilla 5 Infantry Leader 5(boosted with medal) Rommel
initual skills maxed (crossfire and desert fighting medals) Blitzkrieg 5 Panzer leader 5 Leeb Initial skills maxed Movement maxed Accuracy 5 Pretty standard. All out attack on kiev. End of turn 1 you should be rocking with Kiev and the cruiser on the port is left than half hp Your medium tank will be use to defend. Build triple stack heavies and put in your 2nd tank general.

Leeb to weakend cruiser on port Manstein finishes it and move with konev and rommel Guderian attacks city below kiev. medium Tank will not move Yamashita captures the port.build light infantry on kiev. SouthTitan tank move in btm city. Enemy spawned infantry. Guderian attack x2, leeb to finish off infantry. medium tank to take the city. Yamashita move out of port.build a submarine. NorthRommel moves and weakens Artillery unit Manstein kill him and attack city konev move to enemy artillery position The rest is up to RNG. TipsGuderian and Leeb needs to finish off the cruisers with your subs( i only build 2) Manstein obliterates everyone with support. Timoshenko will die. his city is not the objective. we only cares about the objective. Kharkiv fall, Vatutin will retreat to help zhukov @ moscov Take smolensk then minsk then Voronezh and lastly stalingrad Zhukov will help missle down Voronezh.

.org/image/9l2feijlh/] Mistake on my part : i thought enemy general will attempt to cross the river so i waited with Guderian and Leeb. Waste of time as he only stands there to attack rocket launcher. my bad. Moved him medium tank and leeb from the top and killed the artillery unit there. Took Voronezh. Build anti matter nuke jjust in case .org/image/51q6t01px/] Rommel went up to kill some infantry (which he failed) since he is my 3rd tank general Guderian landed. FINALLY wooo. Leeb attacks infantry which he failed to kill too. Rest of my units capture city above Stalingrad .org/image/nxvvcu3lh/] make guderian come down to take kharkiv just to make him do something. Destroyed stalligrad fortifications with my 3 generals. Zhukov survived. The end as my paratropper take the city

Hmm, the strategy is solid and hits all main points, but depends too much on unknown variables like very high tech level and overpowered generals. All your generals seem to be fully upgraded on at least one skill, and you have Manstein...
I did try my best to follow through your guide, and I did; yet my generals were insufficient for the task. Did you buy medals through in-app purchases? (You probably won't respond as this is an old thread, though.)
Still, guides in my opinion should be tutorials that are accessible to all players (or at least, most of them,) without the need for in-app purchases or over-dependance on generals.

Still, guides in my opinion should be tutorials that are accessible to all players (or at least, most of them,) without the need for in-app purchases or over-dependance on generals. well expounded and argued. However, there is a truth in 1980 guides. 1980 is riddled with far superior units like the terrifying titan tanks, and the terrorist generals are way more formidable than the WW2 ones we players are left with. Hence, having sufficient technological upgrades and thoroughly upgraded skills on your generals is what 1980 requires, and of course along with the right strategy. This guide's strategy is indeed sound, but since the generals are all unnecessarily upgraded to marshall rank, I can safely vouch that it can be done with no rank or purple banner upgrades. Just rely on rumor to prevent the enemy generals from gaining the opportunity to attack you, and this way you can conserve general health for the last push to the southeastern city.

I agree, If possible, there should be another guide created for those like me who have not spent money and have decent but not amazing gens.

I have guderian, rommel, messe, konev, leeb and nimitz all red nameplates, quite upgraded skills and 3/4tech. Is it possible for me to complete this and future scenarios and should I continue upgrading skills or save for a new gen?

Your main roster is all set, just keep upgrading skills, and maybe you may want to hire a support general like Arnold, with rumor, air stats and crowd tactics Other than that, bon voyage in your 1980 ventures haha

After 4 attempts (actually relatively easy for UN), I got two stars on it.
Generals used were Guderian (all skills level 5 + rumor except for LVL 2 explosives), Konev (all skills level 2 lol), Leeb (no upgrades), Vatutin (Blitz level 2) and Rommel (rumour level 2). Tech is nearly maxed.
So actually, you don't need super great generals. All my generals have no rank upgrades besides red nameplate, and only Guderian has any outstanding skill upgrades.
I actually went around the fish-shaped lake to the northeast instead of cutting it from the southwest like the strategy guide did. Here's a few extra tips.
1. Rokossovsky will abandon his cities cause he's a traitor 2. Don't capture the northwest city which a tank general will capture. It's a waste of time 3. Don't capture any cities with your generals, otherwise they will bleed out quickly. Always parasnipe, even when it means you'll lose the city next turn. 4. Zhukov dying actually helps you more, since you can steal Moscow. Let him live for as long as possible, but if he dies don't worry. 5. Vatutin is also a traitor. He abandons Kharkiv and just does nothing afterwards 6. Don't try to capture Stalingrad the conventional way. Just build an antimatter nuke and a normal nuke and parasnipe. 7. For cities on the front lines, build an armoured car for defense. It should survive for at least two turns.

Got 1 star but it's okay since i forgot about the stalingrad conventional way part tho 😅
