Here is the guide to do what Hitler, Napoleon, Charles of Sweden and the Allies in WWI failed to do:Invading Russia!
Here is the allocated time you have to win the campaign. Of course, we want to finish before Winter hits in so we want to take over Russia in 15 turns. Also, the troops you own and the general layout of the battlefield.
Here are the generals I used for the campaign:
Nasser
Badoglio
Soviet General (Tank)
German General (Not specialized)
Auchinleck
Kuznetsov
I would recommend two tank generals and at least one artillery general for the campaign.
Primary objective will be the cities of Minsk and Smolensk, in the center. I'd take all your tanks and your artillery to this area to take out the cities and gain industrial and urban hubs. These two cities are great air bases to bomb enemy targets, produce lots of money, and allow for the creation of high level troops. The secondary target will be Leningrad. Send your armoured car and infantry to the city, along with a commando unit. The Finns and Army Group North typically make quick work of the city, but these troops will ensure the capture of the city and will allow to take the city for yourself as well.
Do not worry about taking Kiev until after the Primary targets of Smolensk and Minsk have been dealt with. Once Minsk and Kiev have fallen, assist the Romanians and Army Group South in taking the city. I'd send only a motorized infantry and an artillery unit.
The bonus target is the level one city to the south of Moscow. Send the motorized infantry along with another motorized infantry to take it out. If you go over 15 turns trying to take the city, just focus on taking the city. Then, once you do take the city, just restart. Once you take the bonus, you don't need to worry about it ever again, even if you need to restart.
Now it's time to go say hello to Premier Josef Stalin at the Kremlin. Send your troops at Leningrad towards Moscow to merge with the rest of your army at the Minsk region. Send everything you got at Moscow, and keep producing tanks at Smolensk. I'd recommend taking out Zhukov is a top priority, but knocking down Moscows health is a much larger one. Due to the city being a capital, it has far more health than any other city in the campaign. Thus, city breaker units such as artillery are heavily needed to grind down the city's health. Once the city's health is reduced, march in there and raise the Third Reich's flag upon the towers of the Kremlin. Again, I heavily recommend taking out Zhukov, however, as he can heavily wear down your troops.
Took me 17 turns instead of the 15 I wanted, more than likely because I didn't take out Zhukov.
