Follow History:
Use the two groups to form a pincer attack & surround Kiev... meaning go around army group Kiev to attack the rear cities, then combine troops to hit Kiev from the back.
I'd recommend use of RA & howitzers to snipe &/or deal splash dmg to enemies from a range.
