So in a lucly strike i barely managed to beat this mission on 20 turn lol Assigned my ing gen to the tier3 granedier on south. The cav gen to the armored car and the art gen to the southerh heavy art Then i kept my fleet at home I biult a coastal fort in the back of my port (dont need it right away but i was valuable by the time sydney got in the fight) The. I started rushing against the french so the easter spanish dont retaliate They still did about round 3 but by that time your whole army is there so they get wreck I took the french village north of madrid killing suchet and drouot fairly easily with art and cav Dont even mind about the spanish west of it cuase they wont move. Only diez will so blat him with art Then move south to madrid blasting it with your art. Getting in position is tricly cause rivers and fort. Sended mi inf gen and blucher south of the fort to madrid By the time i got madrid palafox tries to retake so defend I exploited the ai when they attack forts in construction. So spam wood forts when you can to atrack enemy art fire and cover your generals Then i split cav and inf gen to seville And art gen plus the provided inf and cav gen lisbon. Took it barely on turn 20 for 5 stars In the navy battle just wait for them to come They will come in groups so sorround and kill You may need and extra frigate to clear them all.i did

I had problems with this one. Could it be my generals? I have Sophia, Kate, Fatimah, Diez, and Kutaisov. None of my generals have been regrouped. Any good strategies? Also I have War Horse.

Ah, I remember doing this one (I just looked it up again). As said above, push the French until they're dead, and fight a defensive war against the naval fleet. I went straight for Madrid, while Zaragoza fell on its own (AI attacking patterns are moronic), and pushed to Seville with most of my generals. Sakurako held off Palafox easily, so the same can be done with any number of lesser gens. Lisbon is self explanatory at this point. Your generals might be an issue, though, as you, yourself, suggested. Sohpia is greaat, as is Kate. Fatimah is..meh (Palafox fodder...?). Diez and Kutaisov aren't bad, either, but could be better. Attempt to get Maria as a filler, then try to get sakurako. It's possible with your gens, and would definitely help in the long run (America 1798 isn't that bad for Sakurako). As many have said before, don't try to go for 5 stars on the first try unless you have amazing generals. Someone with your team should take things a little slower, while a team like mine (Dobeln, Sophia, Kate, Isabela, Sulkowski, and Sakurako) can afford to rush.

I think I settled for three stars on this mission, then returned with my current set-up and got 5 immediately.

From where? Try to have a bunch of art behind your main line. Also focus on your cities/factories to help this along
